I'm sure even the regular FR-S will be fixed and it will suck for those first buyers.
Thanks goodness you don't run Subaru or Toyota...

If they don't change anything other than intakes and exhaust then there is no reason to purchase this car.

Agreed. Its already pretty easy to get 20-30 horsepower from aftermarket systems. I alraedy plan on adding atleast 20 horsepower with parts for less than $2000 by May.

You'll see a bunch of threads of people racing the STI version
Against the regular BRZ and having even races.
Big wheels, big wing, big brakes, body kit...
All this crap throws away the gained 20hp.

Just like the nismo version of the 370z, all the normal Z's
Outrun the Nismo.
Totally agree and had seen that, haha!

kids calm down, don't call things bs just because it doesn't add to the performance. nowadays a lot of the "performance" things are just for looks. as long as it looks good it achieved its goal. "performance" parts are unnecessary if you just want to race. go Youtube "sleepers" and you'll see this guy race a grandpa's car beating off many of the real sports cars. that proves that added exterior parts is just for looks.

Devil's Advocate counterpoint: it could be like the Cayman R. Meaning, to build a Cayman R level of performance you can

A) option a Cayman S model with 90% of the items from the Cayman R, or buy them aftermarket,
B) or buy a Cayman R.

However, to equip the whole package (A) will cost you thousands more than just getting the factory R.

Just saying; it all depends on the pricing.

just like the wrx, the sti is more about things other than power. isnt the plain wrx faster 0-60 and near identical 1/4 mile times?

But let's be honest, this article is crap without sources. I refuse to click
and you clicked ^^
