I have that effect sometimes.

Funny enough, I posted cause I was just thinking how dead the thread was, lol.

Horizon was not straight in real life. That's an illusion caused by the shape of the land.
I "straightened" it like that on purpose. o:

Any camera is good after the 70D or 60D. Full frame is best. 6D is full frame.

Now, the only bottleneck is the lens. Buy $1k+ lenses.

If you can afford it go bawls out for the 5D mark iii

With 5D, sensor and center point AF are not as good as 6D. For anything else 5D is superior.

Always use Canon L or Sigma A lenses.

I dunno the name. I do it with curve setting.
You have to up the first quarter of the curve on the left (dark) side, while kipping the 3/4 on the right side straight.
This way you will have this kind of low and high contrast feeling at the same time.

You will need a slightly large aperture lens to have a nice burn of the backlight. Here it is a 23mm f2 APSC (nothing crazy).

Oh man!!
I am a little in love, or maybe it is lust, with the X100/S/T. No, it is lust. That is, I would never buy one but I am so glad it exists. It has a mechanical cable release!!
