The vortex generator creates a vortex (funny) that directs air from above the boundary layer (dead air) to your control surface (on an aircraft) or on a car, to your down force generating wing/spoiler; basically it delays the flow of air from separating from the body... I do not know how much of an effect it REALLY has on this car, especially with nothing but the integrated mild trunk spoiler but maybe with a larger airfoil in the right position it is quite functional. I am sure an aerodynamics expert could correct me, but this is my understanding of how they work.

From what I know about these researching them for an airplane I'm building you are essentially correct. I'm guessing they would have some effect but it would be more cosmetic than anything.

On the Firestorm, I would like these in "flat black trim" color. Then I'd want to plasti-dip the small VGs on the tail lights to match.

I can't believe this are $315+$45 shipping though. I wonder what they really cost directly from Toyota?

Well that is good to hear.

I was talking to a friend in Japan and she said TRD stuff has always historically been pretty pricey compared to 3rd party brands offering a similar product, including the big brands like HKS, Trust, etc. They likely are not very cheap even from a Japanese dealership.

Don't get me wrong, VGs can make a huge difference. On a two seater airplane placed in the right configuration they can lower the stall speed by 10 or more MPH.

Oh well, no VGs for me then. I'd want to see them in person on a car first anyway.

It's those splitters sticking out to the sides as if it were about to catch flight.

I just love the fact its a BRZ!!

For me, yes, it's the sections on the side of the splitter and sideskirts that are stretching out. It just looks goofy to me. To be honest, i still concider the Five Axis kit to be the best looking. There is a vented rear bumper i really liked earlier in this thread, though.

I would say that its possible that its actually a GT86 with BRZ headlights installed, but I don't know.. (After all, the BRZ fake vents are available for GT86s as an option..)

I doubt it. Lights are much more expensive than a bumper could be.

They probably only designed the lip/splitter for the 86, and not for the BRZ. So, they just changed the front bumper
