This is a great thread with stimulating conversation. Glad no one is arguing and belittling each other. Tired of seeing that on this forum.

I appreciate everyone's feedback and help, means a lot! I am glad ptuning chimed in. I was wondering about them and the DP3E KLR turbo systems. Anyone have these installed? It seems at that FBM and FA20CLUB are most popular right now.

I don't know that anyone on the forum ever got one of the DP3E systems. I was looking at it as well, but I don't remember what turned me off from it when compared to the Full Blown kit.

It also seems the GReddy kit may build some steam per se. Adding exhaust, injectors, and fuel pump could do some good work!

If you can hold off a few weeks till the 11th there will be a lot of cars at the 86 nationals featuring different turbos. They all will have a chance to be dynoed as well by an independant third party (dynosty).

Sure you can build a kit "capable" of 800whp for the cost of an off the shelf kit "minus tuning", but take it from me if you want 800whp you better find a new platform. The ONLY reason I had the opportunity is because I have millions of dollars in equipment that allowed me to machine most of my own parts that are not and will not be available for this car for a long time. Not to mention the drivetrain is absolute shit on big power applications, even after recutting the oe gears, coating and cryo treatment the transmission still wouldn't hold at all. Maybe with a dogbox, but good luck getting one made and it will cost at least 5K.

I am in no rush. After my 05 tC being my first car to mod. I realized taking your time and following your gut (not going against it) is the best bet. I am going towards FBM base kit right now. Just want to wait a bit longer.

Looking forward to it. I hope I get there early enough to get dynoed. I sure hate waking up early.

I was wrong. I got to drive one tonight. It was @Synack 's DP3E turbo kit low compression pistoned FR-S. It definitely delivers the power much more brutally and at a higher RPM than my Full Blown kit. While I get all kind of boost between 3000 and 4000 RPM even with partial throttle you really had to lay into it on this kit and wait for the boost to start hitting past 4000 RPM, then you better hold on. I also remembered why I didn't end up getting the kit and that was because it utilizes the OEM header.
