This fk2, a type R after the 9th gen, is not coming to the US so you're not counting it.

Sequentially, the fk2 would be a 10th gen civic type R and the one coming to the US would be the 11th.

Regardless. Its slower and more expensive than a WRX.
earlier you stated we dont know the specs for the us type r and now your saying its slower then the wrx...

I don't care if you want to call it the fk2 type R. its the type R after the 9th gen civic type R.

Every Honda I see now looks hideous and I used to love Honda/Acura. It's like they've just completely given up on aesthetics.

They used to be "less is more", now it's "how many creases and vents and scoops can i fit into this tiny area"

EVERYONE has given up on aesthetics.

We just happen to have a few nice fenders and a good roofline.

It's the result of cars being designed by a committee, not penned by an artist like they used to be. Now they have to poll a committee to find the design that is least offensive to the target demographic. Even when the target demographic are boy racers, it's still hit-or-miss.

Just beware running costs likely a bit more than the BRZ (on top of purchase price). And you lose back seat

I would get the Cayman S. The resident Ford insider at NASIOC confirmed that the Focus RS AWD system (which he worked on) will already be maxed out in terms of performance. So if you are not happy with the stock power it will not be the right car for you.

What about a Lotus Elise

I saw that too, and definitely made me rethink the possibility of putting a deposit down on one. It could just be what corporate told him to say, who knows...

I find it interesting that Ford is so supportive of the aftermarket EcoBoost Mustangs, but the Focus RS, which will have a better turbo and internals will be maxed out at stock levels (which also happen to be less than the power levels seen with the Ford backed tunes for the Mustang). It must be an issue with the AWD system, I would think, and if that's the case it might get expensive to beef that up.

Elise is a good call, my close friend has a 2008 Exige S and that chassis is definitely not friendly for a DD. I am 6' 200lbs and it's a tight fit too. Great car, good fun, but I would only drive it a couple times a month.

If I was you, my two options would be FI or Porsche. I was considering a Cayman or 997 C2 before buying the BRZ. The warranty is what got me in the Subaru vs the unknown with a Porsche, but if you're going to go FI, then it's a wash. As long as you're cool with handling expensive repair/maintenance bills if they crop up, hard to go wrong with a Cayman or 911.

According to the insider the powertrain will not be the limiting factor it is 100% the AWD system. That said, how much power do you really need? Stock the car shoukd be fast.
