Ignition Timing and Knock

Good day people, I've found a site that explains ignition timing and knock in a most fundamental and non threatening way I've ever experienced. Much better than a scary Internal Combustion Engine text book. After reading this, it should be clear why engine knock is feared so much and why does the engine generates less power (and running inefficiently) when running with pulled spark ignition timing. Apparently, engine knocking is not the sound that the engine makes when it wants to come out of your bonnet...who knew? right? Enjoy!

Nice article, thanks. The trick is to overcome this without losing power, bearing in mind our cars are running 98 maps.
We've got a tune for that and it's very decently priced at R0.00
