The quarter panels have opening where you can tuck it inside. Just below the quarter glass in this picture. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showp...&postcount=227

Radium engineering makes a universal surge tank that I've seen mounted inside the pocket (with their 45 degree angled bracket.) I cannot for the life of me find the picture though. From the picture though it did look like he could of put the interior panels back in to hide it.

That's a terrible idea. A simple tap on that corner in a race means you're now at serious risk of fire. The surge tank should be placed away from any area that can buckle or crumple.

As far as heat goes my car's a rock solid at the moment - simple JR oil cooler completely solved high oil temp issues as per my OBDII logs. I run 0w20 or 5w30 on a stock motor. Stock tune. Track or traffic in Dubai heat - zero issuess since the oil cooler install. Oil temps rarely creep over 100 Celsius and coolant stays well in the 90s.
At two NorCal tracks fuel starvation is an issue. For long left hand sweepers, especially going up hill:

FI: requires above 3/4 tank.
NA: requires above 1/2 tank.

I haven't noticed fuel starvation at the SoCal tracks but I also never allow my tank to go down below 1/2 anymore.

At Thill turn 7 8 9 complex (all left hand) noticed starvation on 91 NA 1/2 tank or below. Worse if FI. Turn 2 exit starvation FI + E85.

At Laguna only notice it FI + E85 if around 1/2 tank exit T5.

Seems my heat issues have been fixed finally, went to streets last weekend ambient temp 85 and oil / coolant never went over 220 degrees, this was due to switching to the greddy oil cooler and heat wrapping / ceramic coating all exhaust and intake piping, last time I was there I was able to reach 250 with less hot laps. Still haven't bought a vented hood.

On the track car, we are now running a custom under plate with a scoop/vent. This decreased on coolant temps 40 degrees.

We're not running a thermostat and we are seeing temps around 140F on the street, as soon as we go anywhere over 50mph, the temps stay there no matter how hard we push the car. On the track with the thermostat, I think we will stick around 220F.

We are pretty happy with the outcome.

3 cars fuel starved above 1/2 tank at Atlanta motorsports park. 2 N/a and 1 FI all on e85. I was the fi car. I'm runni b g a Walbro 485 that is fed from the syphon hose with a OEM pump on the opposite side of the tank and still fuel starved.

This is how you prevent fuel starvation. Worked like a champ for us.

FBM 270LPH feeding into the surge tank, which is then using a Bosch 044 to feed the fuel rails.

Any point in upgrading the radiator fan?
On the track, the high speeds will push more air than the fan can handle right?

Buttonwillow 6/27, hottest session of the day (about 100F ambient) temperature results:

- PTuning turbo at 9 psi
- 15 minutes on track
- PTuning laminova cooler
- Setrab series 9 15 row
- Koyo aluminium racing radiator w/ Redline water wetter, 70% distilled water / 30% OEM coolant.
- All -10AN oil ports and hose
- Oil lines routed through air cooler then water cooler before returning to engine
- Everything else OEM as related to cooling setup.

Peak IAT: 123F
Peak Coolant: 240F
Peak RPM: 7443
Peak MPH: 105
Peak Oil: 237F
Peak EGT: 1452F

Avg IAT: 108F
Avg Coolant: 219F
Avg RPM: 5164
Avg MPH: 69
Avg Oil: 213
Avg EGT: 1374F

I'm quite satisfied with this setup as my city street driving is anywhere from 180-200F oil temp. Water is a little warmer than I like for summer track days, but I can live with these results for sure.

Who's developing it? My car is NA running E85 and I am fuel starving at two different local tracks.
