JDL 4-2-1 EL header

Got my header installed at Touge Tuning and tuned with OnPoint Dyno today!

Sasha said that it’s one of the highest HP NA BRZ’s he’s ever had. Car pulls strong right to redline and the torque dip is all but gone. These numbers are with the stock overpipe and front pipe still in place.

For reference, this dyno is a bit of a heartbreaker... stock BRZ’s typically make anywhere from 140 to 155hp on this dyno.

Ugh this is not what I wanted to hear.

Bye bye money...

I've been following this header since the beginning and it seems like a perfect alternative to the ACE, not to mention I was probably going to get Sasha to tune it too.

I'm assuming Ecutek and 94 Octane?

Those numbers are typical for pre-tuned cars here in AU, mine pre-tuned was 155hp with intake and exhaust mods.

Enjoy

Sasha at OnPoint is a beast. Absolutely cool guy and we're very impressed with his work. We've been in contact with JDL for some time and we know he has been putting a lot of effort to ensure the fitment is spot on. Hope to get some for our clients soon!

I guess being an EL header, this would be loud as hell with a Corsa exhaust eh?

Any catless header will be loud.

Here’s a little clip with my Invidia R400; stock over pipe and front pipe by the way.

That's not bad at all. It has a stock ish sound. I am kinda getting tired of the UEL sound.

I had the same thought run through my head.
I think we're pretty much stuck with the FT86SF catted UEL.

I haven't heard the JDL catted EL with a Corsa yet. That could work.

Yeah the FT86SF is already borderline too loud for me but then I hear most other high performance cars on the road and I don’t even know why I’m worried.

Following up as I think I have the same clearance issue that others have had with the aluminum underbody shield. My header was a first run.

Hearing a buzzing noise at low-mid rpm under load with my new header; and you can also hear it on cold starts. Video for reference, is it the shield?

EDIT: Fixed skid plate, "thrumming noise" still there. Leaky header perhaps? Check my most recent post.
