Hey guys. Just bought the new Toyota 86 and will hopefully pick it up tomorrow or Tuesday. Coming from a 2007 Mini Cooper S which kept breaking down and draining my money, until after a recent breakdown I said no more, I'm leaving this POS behind. Went to Toyota 2 days later and traded it in. Looking forward to picking up my car and indulging in the usual banter of debating break-in procedures, oil grade, and whether to use premium gas or not lol. Cheers

Hi everybody! I own a '13 FRS, 6 speed. I'm done making payments so it's time to start thinking of mods, I don't have a money tree so it will be a slow process but I'm glad I'm here, the are so many ideas and resources on this forum and it will be very helpful!

I am new to this forum. I currently own a 2005 tC. I've been thinking about purchasing either the 2017 86 or the 2017 BRZ. Not sure which, yet. I like the exterior design of the 86, but I like the package options on the BRZ. I fell in love with the hot lava orange color that was introduced on the FRS so much that I had my tC repainted that color. Hopefully, I can get some good recommendations on which vehicle to choose.

Hi, Ani here, new owner of an 2017 86. So far so good and loving it! Well if anyone needs any info or pics of 2017 vs previous models lmk. Coming from a 350z to a s2000 and now an 86 definitely has its differences. Thanks to everyone who has contributed and paved the road for us newbies to learn from.

New to the community! Just grabbed a 2017 GT86 in Raven last weekend. Coming from a 2008 Scion TV, and I gotta say that I enjoy driving much more now. Still looking for some spots around the LA area to test out the handling, so if anyone has some suggestions I'm all ears!

Hi all,

Got my 2017 86 in Halo last Monday. Been putting her through her paces in the San Jose/Santa Clara Bay Area. Coming from a 2005 tC so this has a lot more spunk than I'm used to.

First project car so I'll be perusing the local marketplace forums snagging all the used gear

hi everyone,

just joined the forum today and posted about my situation here....

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=115732

as noted, coming from a 2014 Mazda3 hatch which was totaled in an accident last week.... any feedback/input would be more than welcome and much appreciated.

would love to join the community, if i can just find a nice used 86 at the right price.

cheers!

First post here.

Picking this up tomorrow:

14 FRS 6speed with 11K on the clock. Bone stock save for the window tint but that will change soon...

I have the same username on TacomaWorld (my truck in the background) & I have a small side business building custom grills for the past 5 years or so.
Looking forward to being a positive contributor here, there seems to be a ton of great information from what I've seen so far.

Thank you!

So between those, I've just needed a simple DD to get me around when the old stuff isn't an option.

I've been leasing a Scion tC for the last three years, which I enjoyed quite a bit. It's not a sports car by any means, but it's got enough performance in it that it got me itching for more/better. And TBH, watching a lot of Top Gear lately has gotten me wanting more from my car. When I went in to discuss options for a new lease/purchase, I started looking at the rebadged 86 and recalled that three years ago I really wanted an FR-S rather than the tC. But for money and practicality reasons I went with the tC. But now I've decided I'm going to have a sports car.

I ordered the color and options I want and it arrives next week. I think I see this a bit differently than most folks here. For me it's a much more fun DD, rather than a second car or track car that I'm going to mod. For that reason I ordered an AT (don't curse me; I spend a lot of time in traffic).

Should be a lot more fun than I'm accustomed to, and I can't wait.
We need pics when it arrives!

Mulholland Drive is a mess between the rains and terrible drivers, but it was a good place once.

The hills of Malibu, and just north of Malibu are also pretty fun...but also treacherous at night/in bad weather.

If you ever come out to the Inland Empire there are a ton of great canyon roads up here just above La Verne/Claremont/Upland/Rancho Cucamonga...

Hello All

Hi everyone, new to the forum and the frs/brz/86...I picked up a new 17' 86 in Halo about 2 weeks ago and have already been bitten by the mod bug. I threw the Invidia Q300 cat back on and absolutely love it...thanks to all for their posts about the exhaust as it definitely helped me make the right choice. Also put some clear side markers on and am waiting for the OE arm rest.

Anyway...sorry for the long post...look forward to more modding and reading others experiences.
