All things considered, it is a hybrid of Nitrous and traditional FI. It literally (edit: essentially ?) slots 1/2 way between both.

is this something that will be produced? Depending on price I would 100% get this.

I agree that this doesn't compare well to regular FI, since it can only be used in such short "bursts" its not really an "always on" power solution like a turbo or supercharger. Since it only engages at full throttle that means throttle modulation for any sort of precision driving is unlikely to work well. I would guess that the most common use for this will be stop light drag racing, which it should do just fine with, if that is what you are looking for. I can see a device like this being the #1 choice when battery technology reaches the point that you can use full boost for say 60+ seconds without a need to recharge, and modulating the throttle is possible without losing boost.

You're correct, I left that part out of my reply. A good term for this (besides e-charger) would be "burst-charger."

Fenton seems to not be ashamed to admit that his car is in serious need of a driver mod. The point being that a talented driver might find that with the latest modification that is intended to eliminate restriction when not at full throttle, the responsiveness might be improved enough to make a sufficient improvement over stock to reduce lap times.
What I'm trying to say is that it might be good for more than just straight lines.

But from all testing so far, it IS always available when you want it, and it's definitely useful for more than just hooning. The power is immediately available any time you want full acceleration whether that means running up an on-ramp or pulling out to pass someone. |

Translation please.
"Hooning"? I feel like Data when they took the country star on board. "Pit woofie?"

It's not available if you have just used it. You have to wait for it to recharge. Thus not always on.

And that's exactly the misunderstanding I expect a lot of people might have when reading about this. I did everything I could to actively try to run down the battery and simply couldn't do it. The blower was available any time I wanted it. Unless you're on the Autobahn and can hold the throttle wide open for long periods of time, the system will charge faster than you can run it down. The only opportunity on this side of the sea to run it down might be over a few laps at a track event. I don't think anyone has tried this yet. |

Sorry... driving like a maniac. I'm just making the point that this is useful to people who aren't idiots too. This isn't just a red-light-racer toy.
