ARE YOU GUYS BLIND?
The upper section doesn't look longer to me than the current version; instead the lower section looks shorter than the current version. However, I think that is more of a product of the camera lens distortion and angle exaggerating it.

Kinda like this photo - ignore the carbon fiber lip. It can be hard to tell.

There actually is, the launch edition of 2015 STIs received the same interior treatment of first series blue. But it's just call the launch edition.

Lets hope the factory stereo head unit was improved to go along with the steering wheel controls, I like the looks of the original steering wheel better, but would retrofit the new head unit and steering wheel to get rid of the frustrating touch screen lag of the original.

I've been stalking this forum for a while, thought id join and provide some input.
With the environment in which these cars are in and the time before first delivery (6+ months?) id wager these are 16s getting outfitted with 17 cosmetics for the show.

This would also allow them to hide what they dont yet want to reveal, like a revised intake, and half of these parts could be pre-production quality (basic shapes but lacking the proper finish and texture)

Okay, let's compare it to mine:

Nope. Not seeing it. If anything, the mouth guard looks smaller, with the body molded around it more to pull it back into the nose.

I think you guys are just imagining new problems to complain about.

Any new BRZ owners who don't want steering wheel controls, I'd be happy to do a swap with you

The reason they think it looks longer is because of the sharper longitudinal lines around the headlights. They took what was a smooth section and put lines in it. That will naturally make it seem longer when it isn't. It's like fat girls wearing dresses with vertical lines to try to look taller and slimmer.

Exactly this. Black one is obviously pre-facelift with '17 makeover.

That's kind of the point. If he ALLOWED the picture to happen, he's in breach of the NDA as well. I'm fairly certain the photos are Subaru prep for the upcoming NYIAS next week and as such, there's someone prepping a preproduction 2017 car.

In all my years of tech marketing previously, I've never allowed myself to be traced to any NDA leak. Even if I leaked something, I use 3rd party sites and post things anonymously.
