so when is someone going to sign onto their forum (making sure to hide all registration away from your friends in fear of being made fun of), and post this link on that thread?

But I don't know when or if this car will ever see the light of day. I suspect it will depend on how well the FR-S and BRZ sell and how well Mazda recovers financially. And they also need to figure out how to economically make a rotary engine that can make high HP and get good gas mileage. That was one big problem with the RX-8, that car is thirsty at the pump
Problem is, the Wenkel is difficult to make fuel efficient due to its design. I'd be hard pressed to explain why, since I haven't done that much research into rotary engine design, but thats what I have been told by people who are familiar with it. The main advantage to the rotary is that it is high revving (redlines at 9k rpm), and will give you a linear torque curve almost all the way to redline, along with the horsepower of a small v6 in around 1.3L of space

And very little vibration. It sounds and feels just as happy at 9,500 rpm (fuel cut) as 3,000 Never sounds harsh, never gets "boomy" or thrashy at any rpm. The buzzing bees just get angrier and angrier, lol.

The mpg thing really varies per car. I get 20-21 mpg in mixed, "enthusiastic" (lol) commuting, and 24 on highway roadtrips. Not exactly a Prius I know, but not all that different than cars it was compared against back in 2004. I think it's partly just that people read "1.3 liter" and obviously expect much better...

Do you know my father or something? He says the exact same thing about the engine behavior

He gets about the same gas mileage in his 2005.

No surprise coming from an SRT4 owner (sorry if I offend anyone lol). Don't get me wrong, I like having fun on the highway too... but my current POS is faster than the 86. If I saw one on the highway I'd follow it and admire the car, not race him and act like a douche about it on the forums.

I actually still want a RX-7(the last generation) one of these days when I can afford a weekend car. I think it has beautiful lines and been one of my favorite cars. But yeah I agree there are a lot of problems with it to make it a daily driver. So I will save that for when I am in my 50 or 60s and can afford a weekend car.

No 'race requests', but I have been tailgated A LOT plus today a guy in what looked like an imported skyline did a screeching takeoff (almost losing it) around a corner after he saw my FR-S.

Well when some people get jealous they tend to do those kind of things.
