I wonder if the pulley caused this.

loosely, a long block refers to the engine block, internals, the head, cams, and transmission. A 100% complete and total replacement

A short block is just the engine bottom end. Ive seen these terms used loosely so give or take some parts.

I highly doubt a pulley caused this mess. The intake would be more suspect than the pulley, but even that I highly doubt.

So we've had at least two catastrophic engine failures?

I doubt the pulley would cause that and even if they did i think they would have told him by now that the warranty is voided

What the hell!!

Did you have any engine work done before? As in the cam related CEL? Or you survived that?

I brought mine in today for an oil change, crickets, and because I've been smelling a lot of burning this week on my way to and from work. Hopefully it's an unrelated issue, I haven't had any issues with the CEL, but that really sucks about your engine. Shoulda taken the rental, at least you could thrash that around while u wait for your car.

No engine work, just oil change. I haven't had any issues with CEL or bogging down with the airaid intake. My buddy has the exact same set up with intake and pulley but drives a lot less miles. If those items caused it eventually it would happen to him too. I did just install TRD exhaust the Saturday (2 days before) but doubt that was an issue?
