Is this a camber adjustable crash bolt or a regular? - Toyota GR86, 86, FR-S and Subaru BRZ Forum & Owners Community

I pulled a wheel for the first time since I bought the car a year ago. I took some pictures since I plan to do a coilover upgrade.

I am puzzled why the top bold is a different color. Did my predecessor install camber bolts, or does it look like this stock?

You could mark the bolt head and the strut (so you keep adjustment) and take it out to check...

Both of mine are silver. It's a 2015.

Yes I put the wheel back on and it's dark here now. But I found I took a picture from the other side. :doh:

It's just the normal bolt where the black pain has peeled off. Probably just had an alignment at some point. *Phew*, got worried for a second, after all it's called a CRASH bolt.

Anyway, sorry for wasting your time.

All the aftermarket camber bolts I've seen for this car have a logo on the head, except for Subaru OE crash bolts. Whats funny is that all of the aftermarket ones i've seen have SPC on them, even the Whiteline ones straight from the package. I guess they are probably easy to buy and rebrand.

How can I get a set of Subaru OE camber (!) bolts? Does anyone know the PN and cost?
I've heard the Whiteline bolts corrode quickly, is there any truth to that?

My whiteline/spc bolts have been on for a year and ~15k of DD miles and they look flawless, came off a few weeks ago with minimal effort.

But, California means no snow and minimal muddy crappy roads so take it with(out) a grain of salt.

IMO, I like the cam on the spc bolts for adjustment purposes, with the OE bolt it's undersized and you're just pushing the upright/strut around and tightening it and hoping it's good, then you do the other side, check both, fix the one that's off, repeat. I'd only run the OE crash bolt if a ruleset required it (like the CS or stock classes in some competitive groups).

If you're doing coils you should have camber plates so you won't need camber bolts unless you want some crazy camber up front
