When we get around to it, we'll update that in our Aero Parts thread.

hmm seems like you guys are coming up with allot of great idea thanks for putting in the time to design good performing products! I enjoy the look of a good sized GT style spoiler and like the rocket bunny option but find it quite pricey at 2200+. In your opinion is there other GT style wings that will be functional and more reasonably priced?

Reviving the swan neck idea back from the dead...

http://www.speedhunters.com/2013/08/...k-in-super-gt/

We may start to see swan necks cropping up on everyday street/import cars if the next NSX manages to garner uber-fanboyism.

btw... the license plate trunk mount idea i proposed earlier is now been incorporated by APR in one of their offerings. I guess it can support the downforce?

That is assuming APR's wing makes downforce. If the wing makes little downforce, it might handle it. It will not handle the downforce of our wing. It is also not a good place for the load to be applied

Man I really want to pick up a second trunk so I can mount one of these puppies to it for track days!

Problem is tooling is very expensive (+$20k). We are looking at other manufacturing options however.

However, on the other side of the trunk, that is not the case

The sheet metal is very thin and when you are making a lot of downforce, it will be prone to bending and/or shearing completely. However, we may make a tow hook that will mount here in the factory windows cut out in the diffuser:

The tow hook will also double as a mount for the wing that way you can leave the wing or remove it, leave the tow hook or remove it. It will be a heavier solution than we'd ideally like, but it gives you the option to revert everything back to factory with no visible holes or cuts. While it won't be nearly as large or as extreme as the Exotic Air car, to get an idea of what a wing looks like when it's mounted that low:

Earl
This is cool.

Paul's still working on the CFD and I'll make sure he posts the data once it's complete. It takes a lot of processing (~4 hours on our workstation, ~24 hours on Paul's PC). However, we will offer a tow hook mount and this is a rendering of what it will roughly look like (the final upright shape will change to place the wing where it needs to be):

While this solution is not ideal, there are some real benefits.

Pros:
The wing is mounted to a structural part of the chassis to better transmit the load
The load is transmitted at the rear most point of the car for better leverage
You get a multi-purpose tow hook (we plan on making a few additional options in the future)
NOTHING is drilled or cut, EVERYTHING can fully be put back to stock

Cons:
The tow hook is loaded in bending and in shear
You need to buy two tow hooks and larger uprights so,
It is heavier
It is more expensive.

If you can deal with the additional cost and additional weight this may be the perfect compromise for having a fully functioning wing at the track and removing it for daily driving.
Wanted to bump this old post to see if anyone's seen a solution like this come to fruition? Really interested in mounting my GTC200 at some point in the future in this fashion (tow hook mount position)

Seems as though they merged/became Velox.
