Experience’s with Dealerships
Hi Guys
I want to start a new thread and want your views, opinions and experience's you have had with different dealerships. These experiences are related to sales, after sales, warranty issues, services etc. We don't want to obviously bad mouth certain dealerships but rather avoid going to those dealerships that don't deliver the same service etc that other dealerships deliver. In my case, not sure at the moment which dealership to trust to do my first service with. McCarthy Centurion provided me excellent service in terms of sales and having my tail lights replaced due to warranty. Only issue I had was the fact that they did not know which oil to use when I requested oil from them. So I'm not sure about their service centre and how good they are. So let's get the ball rolling - share your experiences or |

Making a thread "sticky" means it remains at the top of your thread view... like the "Announcement" thread.
I figure that this thread will eventually contain a treasure of information and I don't want it getting lost. |

Hi guys. Let's focus on the positive. I have several bad stories about bad service in Centurion and poor feedback from Roodepoort, but I prefer that we remain positive and spread love. Negativity brings the world down.

also take into account that a good (or bad) experience often comes down to one or a few good, competent people. I've been in touch with quite a few toyota dealerships in joburg and cpt and the best sales guy was definitely at barloworld toyota in tygerberg.
right now, i'm more interested in finding a good service department though so anyone in cpt who's hit the 15K yet? |

I can recommend Imperial Toyota Randburg from a sales perspective. . I initially was having a bad experience with them as the salesperson I was dealing with left and my order got lost in the queue, but they turned it around by finding a car for me.
In terms of servicing , when I had other Toyota's years ago I had good experiences with McCarthy Midrand. |

I'm sitting on about 12,000km so my 1st service will be due by around June. Looking for a dealership that people have been to in gauteng and can recommend. Has anyone had a problem with their 86 in Gauteng and taken it to the dealership for repairs? How was quality of work?
Thanks |

I don't know how good they are when it comes to servicing, but from a sales perspective, Steckel's Toyota in Swakopmund (that's Namibia ) has been nothing butt friendly and trying to help. Unlike all the others.

Car went in for software upgrade and tightening of gearbox mounting today. Took it to Halfway Toyota Honeydew. Very impressive service, from booking in to collection easy and quick. Will definitely use them again.

Well here's an interesting note from my 86 dealership experiences...
So I was looking wide and hard for a galaxy blue hight MT, and this is the rarest spec in SA. I phoned around after 6 months of ordering and eventually my quest led me to mcarthy midrand. There are a lot of people still waiting for their blues and have been waiting for a very long time, just like me. So it turns out the dealer principal had a black 86 that she was using as a demo. However midrand managed to sell that car as a demo, and they had just received a blue high MT. Even though there are many on the waiting list for that spec, the dealer principal "needed" a new car, so she decided to take that blue high MT and use it as a demo, which in my opinion is just ridiculous, as many have already placed deposits for that car. I thought that was unfair to those that have been waiting so long for their baby... |
