Perfection?

I have a feeling this would be an absolutely perfect wheel and tire setup for the FR-S/BRZ.

The World's First One-Piece Carbon Fiber Wheel: Carbon Revolution CR9

Toyo Proxes R888 (235/35-R19)

Now, I know this isn't possible as of right now simply because Carbon Revolution only offers this wheel with a 5x130mm pitch circle diameter, but I have a feeling they'll offer more sizes in the future. What do you guys think?

Not the first, though, since Koenigsegg has had them for a year or two, right? Though I suppose you'd have to buy the $1.7 Million dollar car those ones are attached to.

Cool nonetheless. I bet these will be standard on the next wave of hypercars in ten years.

Not to my knowledge, but I could be wrong.

While more and more cars are turning to composites over metals, I'm sure these will be standard in the next decade...if not sooner.

OK. So, what size would you like to see then?

We put the Dymag carbon fiber wheels on a few of the Mosler MT900's we built when I worked there, and I think all of them switched to OZ. The rim section couldn't take the shock load as I recall. Hopefully the get these sorted, but I don't see cf wheels as anything more than "bling" for a while.

Interesting.

Yeah, the best part about CF is that it is drop-dead gorgeous.

wouldn't making it a 19 inch wheel defeat the purpose? why not keep it small like a 17 or 18, it would be even more light weight.

The company currently only makes this specific wheel with a diameter of 19". You could go smaller, but then you'd have to replace the lost CF with rubber. I think it'd end up being a wash either way.
