Plasti Dip Exterior?
Has anyone Plasti Dipped there FR-S/BRZ yet? My Raven FR-S has a couple of scratches on it now that are driving me insane and I am contemplating Plasti dipping the whole car black. Any and all thoughts greatly appreciated. I know it will give it a rough finish

i plasti dipped a few parts in the interior. I did the silver around the shifter and the silver going up along the sides of the ac controls. It can be rather difficult to get it on smooth and generally ends up with a textured look. I don't mind this for the interior though as it makes it kinda blend with the rest of the black panels.

Plastidipping the whole car? That sounds cool in theory, but IIRC, Plastidip only lasts a few months. This is especially so since the Plastidipped exterior will be exposed to the elements. And what happens if you get a scratch or something from road debris? Do you have to peel it off and redo it all over again?

you can fill holes, but yes it does need to be touched up from time to time.
Why not just get it wrapped? |

The myth that plasti dip will only last a few weeks to a few months is just that, a myth. This stuff will stay in really good condition for a long time. I've had a few friends that dipped their whole car and with the exception of a few touch ups, it lasted over a year. This is through weather several trips to the car wash.
I've seen it go for a whole year on wheels as well. Never used it myself, but I am SERIOUSLY thinking about giving the stock wheels a spray. |

If you know what you're doing dip actually lasts surprisingly long. Even through elements. If you don't know what you're doing, then yeah.

Be advised, professionals don't use spray can plastidip for large projects. They used a spray gun in a booth, etc. I'm not sure I'd recommend anyone doing this unless they knew what they were doing

What's the point of covering the whole car? It looks like complete crap and you don't even enjoy the nice new paint.

yea i have several scratches on my hood, courtesy of a quick, pre-thanksgiving dinner car wash my sister treated me to. what a mistake that was, haha. but yea, it's not worth plastidipping your whole car. the scratches i have are noticeable, but only if you're looking for them really. they bother the hell out of me, but there's nothing i can do and it's not ruining the experience enough for anything extreme.

Those don't even look as good as their stock paint.
