Has anyone actually installed BRZ limited seats in their FRS?

I am just curious, because I have seen people trying to buy/sell BRZ limited seats from time to time, and it is something I am interested in putting in my FRS. Has anyone actually done this, and if so, did they encounter any problems with the seatbelt sensors and such? Since the limited seats have heaters I am wondering if that would mess up the FRS sensors the way aftermarket heaters seem to.

I would like to do this.. I really do not like the fabric of the frs seats. They attract way too much lint, dirt, etc...

I love my FRS Seats. If you are going to upgrade, why not get something nice like a Bride seat?

Katskinz is your friend? I have a few friends that have got the leather seat skins, and you can't tell em from stock really.

Having owned leather seats and cloth seats, I'll never get leather again. Swampy sweaty butts in the summer, freezing cold to the touch in the winter, not to mention slip sliding around the material because it's not grippy at all. Cloth is comfy and grippy all year-round.

Only the outside parts are leather on the BRZ Limited seats and where you sit its is alcantara. I've sat in both and the cloth in the FR-S ones is not significantly different feeling. If you want heated seats I'd just install aftermarket heaters and not waste the time and effort with the BRZ seats.

Technically none of the seat is real leather in the BRZ. Subaru does not use real leather in their cars. It is all synthetic.

someone on here bought gt86 seat covers. With Alcantara centers and seat warmers you wont have to worry about most of the normal issues you have with leather seats.

I've mostly had leather and miss it, easier to keep clean when you have a kid and dogs.

I am already aware of all the aftermarket covers, and the jdm alcantara covers, all look great. The problem is, every thread I have read on installing heaters in the frs, the heaters set off the seatbelt alarm and the airbag warning. So, that is why I was wondering if anyone had actually installed the brz limited seats in an frs, and if that would get around the seatbelt alarm/ airbag warning light issue.

I agree that they are more slippery when they are all leather but for me at least, I find that cloth seats, although they aren't too hot or cold at first, they tend to get too warm and make me feel uncomfortable after a while like wearing a sweater in summer whereas leather always normalizes after a few minutes. But it also depends on the material/type of cloth. Alcantara and suede type materials are much nicer feeling to me than the typical thick woven cloth seats.

At first, I was really disappointed that the FR-S wasn't going to get the Leather/Alcantara seats but after I sat in them, I realized that I can probably be satisfied with them. They are pretty nice as far as cloth goes and like somebody else mentioned, they are almost like Alcantara. So it's just not worth upgrading unless somebody who bought a BRZ Limited is replacing them with something and is willing to sell them to us for cheap.

And just for giggles, here's my comparison of Leather vs Cloth:

Advantages of leather:
+ More durable
+ Won't stain as easily
+ Easier to clean
+ Feels and looks more luxurious
+ Doesn't generate static electricity

Advantages of cloth:
+ Holds you in place better
+ Doesn't get too hot or cold
+ Feels more plush
+ Cheaper

But obviously in the case of the BRZ Limited, they are a mix between both types of materials which is really nice (like my Lancer Evolution MR's Recaro seats).

I don't know if I'd say cloth is less durable... I had cloth seats in a car for 8 years with very little ware. And this is daily driven 5-6 days a week. On the flip side, I had an older car with leather who was only about 3 years old when I bought it, and after another 3 or 4 years, the leather started to crack and rip.

Totally agree with the static shocks though, and I began a habit years ago of running the back of my hand along the metal of the door as I got out to ground myself. It's a little harder with the FR-S since there's no metal liner on the top of the window, but with the low position of getting out, I can generally put the back of my hand on the metal part where the door latches and avoid getting shocked.
