I have ultimate racing FULL exhaust on my car and here is a video. keep in mind that this was a non resonated setup. drone was nasty so I had to install a resonated mid pipe.

I didn't weigh mine but it was MUCH lighter than the factory exhaust. Sounds incredible at the track as well.

Fuel is lighter then water, so if your talking 1 gallon of non-e85 it's around 6.2lbs per gallon where water is 8.39, so to get 20 lbs weight reduction you'd need to lose about 3+ gallons of fuel, so just fill up to 3/4 tank...

exactly. these things aren't sportbikes. 27lbs is a little less than 1% of our car's mass. do you get all mad when your car is full of gas because of how much noticeably slower it is than when it has 3/4 tank? didn't think so.

if you can tell the difference +/- 1% you should be getting paid to drive. in reality, it really makes no discernible difference whatsoever.

I was simply quoting you so you understood that your math was completely wrong and could have been solved by googling before you post. I just don't want people thinking a gallon of gas is 20lbs. Fix the source and you don't have to worry about fixing the downstream.

it's making a point that it's immaterial, it's not a math lesson.

It adds up though. 1% here, 1% there makes a big difference. There is not a single modification that will make an enormous difference on weight reduction.

I know this should be an easy concept, but I hate this train of thought. It is similar to when budget cuts are needed because of the deficity, and people say "It's only a billion, it makes no difference in the total budget so we might as well do nothing."

Pay attention to the ounces and the pounds will follow. Dealing in weight reduction nothing is trival.

And every day should be a math lesson, or else you end up with Idiocracy. (see just used google to make sure I was naming the movie correctly.)

Honestly, the box didn't feel like it weighed 40lbs but I didn't weigh it on a scale.

If I ever take the exhaust off anytime soon, I'll weigh it to confirm its actual weight.
