2015 Model FRS suspension changes
Does anyone have any specifics regarding the 2015 FRS suspension changes? They've said changes will be made to improve the "stability" of the handling. I assume decreased dampening in the rear and maybe stiffer front springs, but does anyone know exactly what has changed?

Nothing specific yet. But I personally think that Toyota decided to outfit the FRS with the BRZ's superior(IMO) shock/spring setup. You know, to prevent idiots from wrapping their brand new cars around unsuspecting trees.

The dampers are now made by Sachs (replaces Showa, IIRC) and the redesigned suspension bolts.

The FRS' don't spin because of their spring rates, they spin because people don't know how to drive RWD cars.
My car on stock springs but stickier tires was definitely easier to get pushing than to get it to spin when driven properly (ie not hammering on the gas mid corner). On the Swift FRS rate springs it's even easier to get it pushing, even on a wet skidpad.

Definitely agree with that. However, compared to most cars on the road, the Twins are significantly easier to induce oversteer. Even more so with the FRS. Pair it with economy tires, and it's a recipe for disaster with wannabe drifters. While I don't agree with Toyota's decision to neuter the FRS' suspension, I understand the need for them to cover their asses. It was bound to happen. Remember the AP1 S2000?

I have a feeling the changes over time will be similar to the S2000s. Just small changes to the springs/dampers but the chassis/engine will remain the same.

Just FYI, MY2014 models already use the updated bolts. If you call your local Subaru parts dealer, the MY2014 models will have different part numbers compared to the MY2013. I forgot to ask if the dampers and springs were the same though.

But wait, that is why I wanted the FR-S to begin with...I hate unsuspecting trees. Always in the middle of the road, just standing there....
