Used for 6 months / ~10,000KM

I didn't notice the missing lip till after I bought the car. Tried asking the dealer for it, they said you get what you pay for. For the record I paid CAD$3000 / USD$2200 under the brand new MSRP .. not the best deal given the condition they delivered it in + missing lip, but I'm still happy with the car.

I want to get one, but I'm not sure which tS I got. I only found a list of US VINs on the forum, mine is Canadian. I think there are a 100 tS cars in Canada.

That's what I was afraid of. Was this a Subaru dealer or other brand/used lot? If it was a Subaru dealer and they didn't disclose the missing lip I'd be on the horn to Subaru Canada ASA Freakin' P! Off brands/used lots can say they didn't know it was missing.
Enjoy the car and hope there are no other surprises to catch you out.

It was a Certified Pre-owned car from a Subaru Dealership.

Any tips on what's the best way to reach Subaru Canada? or should I just look up their info on the website?

This dealership definitely is the worst I've ever dealt with. Their inexperienced detailers/kids scratched the car up and left it looking like it was washed with sand paper. I just had it paint corrected a few days ago.

Does your Bill of Sale specifically state that the front splitter is missing? Furthermore, did they have you initial that statement to indicate you were told and accepted the car without said splitter? I'm thinking no, they did not.

So, first thing is to photo copy both sides of your Bill of Sale.

You have already brought this up with the dealer and it was not resolved so move on. For my problem I phoned the 1-800 number first. Unfortunately the results were less than expected. Next, I posted my problem on Subaru Canada's Facebook page. THAT got results!

Also, you need to contact UCDA to report this dealer's failure to comply with UCDA's guidelines. When talking to Subaru Canada be sure you mention that you've already done this.

My wife has been in the business for over 35 years. We dislike bad salespeople and dishonest dealers.

Oh and I just got my car back from having it ceramic coated. It lived it's life in the showroom and was a total mess.

Thank you so much for all this info!

The bill of sale did not state that the car had any damage or missing parts. Over the phone they mentioned that the car was perfect and all.

I just got 2 stage polish on the car + ceramic coating. The car looks 1000% better than how they delivered it. The dealership messed it up so bad. I can still see some of the scratches now, they're too deep into the clear coat / paint... but oh well, not a deal breaker since they're barely noticeable now.

That's also the number I've seen most often. I was thinking of getting a plate with "One of a Hundred" in place of an actual number. BUT... I would want it in a glossy piano black to match the center stack and door button panels. Figures, I've always got to be different, eh?

Ok .. it took me all night but here's what I found:

1. There are 509 US cars, not 500. 9 of them were manufactured end of August 2017, months before the constant production (December 2017). They might have been demo cars. Here is a full list: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...6eMQp8/pubhtml

2. There are 100 Canadian cars. Here's a list: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...QnyyWY/pubhtml

3. In total there are 609 x 2018 BRZ tS. Here's a combined list with the numbers: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...58&single=true

Thought this would help, but it's confusing me more now. My car is the `0650`. Is it 85/100? 460/609? 451/600?

Time to de-badge the car and forget I have a tS. Dealer won't install a front lip for me anyways lol

Edit:
This thread confirms that the first 9 are pre-retail: https://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=130416
I think one of them is at Otto's Subaru showroom (never buy anything from them!)

Edit 2
First 10 are pre-retail. One of them is a Canadian VIN (0002) that is not on the list of the previous thread.

Great information right here. Would be cool if you added other information about the car to the google sheet.(color, transmission)
