That’s the main reason to buy it lol, real muscle cars have solid rear axles. NASCAR racecars have solid rear axles and nearly 900hp, and they take the track on just fine, the Boss 302 was one of the best Mustangs ever and that had a solid rear axle, this is super on topic but no, the S197 Mustang is not a bad buy by any means.

NASCAR cars are purpose built for a specific road condition, track and speed, much like how F1 are. I wouldn't ever compare a production vehicle to something only driven on a track, it doesn't really make sense.

Fair: To each his own. However I still have to play devil's advocate here.

What is "real muscle"? - Something subjective I supposed
What is "Best mustang ever"? - Relating to straight line speed only I hope.
What is "Take the track on just fine"? - Surely you don't equate this to "Optimum design we know of"
What is "Nascar racecar" - That's what Fred Flinstone drives right?

Not trying to write an essay explaining why these are opinions based on american manufacturer's prehistoric tendencies and emphasis on cutting costs and cheap upgrades (The main reasons why manufacturers even chose RSA in the first place) rather than fact pertaining to actual speed AROUND a track as you mentioned.

It used to be true that SRA could take more power than old IRS systems however nowadays with the materials we can make that no longer applies... Many cars w/out RSAs will go plenty faster than ANY muscle cars in a straight line. And guess what.. they will go MUCH faster around corners as well.

Newsflash: Mustangs went IRS in 2015... That said, I have a 1969 Mach1 with over 500HP on a solid axle and let me assure you, clean pants come in handy. Particularly in the rain...

I know they did, the 2014 GT's still beat the 15-17 in a drag race, 15s put on more weight and the IRS doesn't hook up as well, I'm sure 18 can beat a 13-14 though.

Solid axle has it's plus, I dislike all the unnecessary hate they get.

Real muscle means it mimics the 60s-70s design rather closely, the best straight line Mustang ever is the 13-14 GT500, the best track Mustang was the 13 Boss 302 until the GT350 came out, which has IRS of course.

Oh, and a NASCAR racecar can take the 1/4 mile in 9 seconds, and they're a fairly respectable racecar all around.

I can honestly say I've never seen a matte colored vehicle of any type that I have liked. More power to folks like @Borchert97 that like it, but its just not my thing.

I think it comes from having owned cars before clear-coat and matte meant the car needed waxing.

Rolled on Tremclad primer. "Temporary" paint job that I had for 4 years I owned it. The last I saw the car a couple of years ago it was still rocking the same primer after 12 years.

Newer matte cars do have a specialized matte clear coat, I understand the confusion that matte paint is just normal paint with clear, but that’s simply not the case anymore. Not for professional matte paints like Volkswagens, Lexus, Lamborghini. They do still take a fair bit more to take care of but a work around is to ceramic coat the matte and then you can clean it more like a normal car and with the benefits of a ceramic coat in general.

No confusion on my part, I know the new ones are covered with a clear-coat, I was just saying I've never seen one I cared for. Completely personal preference. What is some people's "Awesome!" is another's "Unfinished!".

Similar reason to me not liking Silver/Gray or white cars. They scream "fleetmobile" to me.
