At least passengers who can't complain or have any feeling whatsoever lol. Given it does look like he has decent leg room! LOL

Another testament to how Team 86 obsessed over the development of this car.

Hopefully not getting off-topic, but does anyone know if this will lower insurance rates on the car? I imagine it would considering it's the only car this size to get such a rating...

I think the moderators merged our threads. When they did that it looks like my post gained (your?) text and videos and lost my link to the autoblog article.

Right on, I was confused because I saw my reply but knew I had only replied in my thread. It's all good.

Now, put some cold aqua on the road surface, and some of the others are the better choice, but still...
NO CHANCE.

keep in mind the forces at play in vehicle vs vehicle collisions and therefore a heavier sports car or very safe SUV etc would come off best in such a scenario.

I am happy to see these cars perform well in these tests but I wouldn't call them the safest cars on the road.

Have you ever seen some of the amazing impacts some ultra exotics have taken and the occupants have walked away from? amazing!

Well.. as someone stated before: the guy in the back is hitting the plastic trim with his head... But at least there is cushioning behind it and probably that plastic piece is pretty soft. The real problem is: since they fitted another grown male in the back they had to pull the front seat forward. Probably too forward. Wonder whats the height of the crash dummy. Because if its not around 6' then probably i would bang my head on the part that has no cushioning around the B pillar.

see how the vehicle lifted off the ground in side impact no matter what hit it still gonna do the same thing, to a certain point anyway. so being light is ultimatly making the car safer. if it was heavier then it would have had been caused dammage. For a head on with a larger car/ truck it would loose, but that test was not a head on. So if say you were to hit the back of somones car at 100kph then yea, this car is safe and if you do smash into the back of a car then you should not be driving it in the first place.

Ive managed to go around a few roos so far, told the misses if somethings in the way reif the wheel and it will do what you want it to, and it does....

Look at the drivers thigh in the side impact video, that looks like a broken femur to me despite profound resistance to cabin intrusion.

The rear passanger will be fine, thats just very thin, flexible plastic housing the side airbag. might have a little neck pain, but will be fine.
