**Update on my exhaust weld failures. Cosworth really stepped up and replaced my header, over-pipe, and resonator pipe. Shipped replacements from England quick, no questions asked nor any hassles at all. Excellent customer service!!

Hi

one thing to consider is that the header cracks we're seeing are all from the brace in the middle
if you're installing into a LHD car then your clearance is much greater as there's no steering column to worry about so if you were to cut through the brace this would prevent the stress cracks form occuring
the manifold would spring / move of course but hopefully this won't be an issue with no column
this is a theory at this point and not something I've tried

at the time the Nameless prototypes were way in front of everything else tried - hence our decision to go with them

however the data from this testing was not thrown out so I have a good idea and a record of what spark timing and cam timing was run with what manifold and the measured effect on exhaust back pressure with changes to the rest of the system

so this i why I'm quite confident we can offer a custom service to dial in the tune to suit the myriad of exhaust options on offer for this car

I think about 40% of our kits are running someone else's exhaust and another 15% are on the stock parts which we also offer a tune for

please do not be put off the charger by thinking you need the cosworth exhaust to go with it

Hi Matt,

I have the Tomei UEL, overpipe and Ti-midpipe setup...
  1. I'm considering pairing this with the Cosworth Charger. Any references on that pairing?
  2. How would custom tuning work, how do I go about doing that if required?
  3. Seem everybody is anticipating a stage 3 kits, is that still on the cards or are you waiting for someone to pair up with to do development with?
  4. I would love to read/hear about options of the cosworth setup with forged internals running higher boost levels.

Thanks,
SG

If I remember correctly RallySportDirect has the full tomei exhaust on their Cosworth supercharged FR-S.

Building on SG-RS1's question, @Matt@Cosworth if I have a different exhaust manifold from the Nameless Performance/ Cosworth, would it be possible to still get a hold of a Stage 1 custom tune? Unfortunately Nameless's manifold has been discontinued and finding one is near impossible. Therefore, I was going to go with the HKS equal length since the ACE is WAY too expensive to justify spending nearly $1k more for a few extra horsepower.

I'd imagine it's quite hard to verify the MY17 ECU logic outside of the EU as we don't get the updated hardware and control. Unless Cosworth have done testing in the US or elsewhere. Hardware wise I don't see why it wouldn't work though, but again we still have the old spec engine here in the UK.

So far we have 1 US 2017 customer on the charger and the air filter no longer fits as the 2017 airbox is a different shape

it needed a different tune to stock to rescale the MAF for a blitz filter but other than that its running just fine with a stock exhaust

Exhaust

Hi Matt
My FRS just got HIT last night by a truck !!
Drunk driver hit it when it was parked, moved my car 30 feet up the street.
Looks Like a Total.
Am going to start looking for new old FRS as soon as insurance looks
at it on Monday.
Cosworth exhaust is bent but can maybe be repaired or does cosworth still
sell them ???
I had to get that one in England and have it shipped to USA.
Thanks Paul
