Just over a 1000 miles and definitely have crickets on my 2015 AT BRZ Limited. Oh well, it appears it is something to live with for now.

Nope. Not crickets. I posted in your original thread.

So much useful information on these forums.

My 2016 just started doing this, and I was more worried something was wrong than about the actual noise. I can live with noise, I can't live with problems :P

No cricket noises at all. I got a 2015 BRZ with something around 16000km/10000 miles. I've filled a car with premium 100 octane (RON not AKI) petrol since very first day.

I experienced crickets with 92 from Safeway (the highest octane in my area).

Switched to 92 from Chevron and crickets are almost non-existent. Every once in awhile one cricket decides to have a solo, but for the most part they keep their mouths shut

Haha, thats actually like 30% of my daily driving. But I've already accepted my faith and I'm just waiting to warmly welcome crickets. Maybe I just delayed it by using 100 octane petrol, i dont know. Its quite hard to find a station with 98RON, here where I live. So I got a choice between 100 or 95, which has too low octane number for this car. And even when I find some, its more expensive than 100 in local station - dont know why. Anyway, I just wanted to contribute to forum.

Octane doesn't seem to have anything to do with it. Ethanol however has been shown time and again to come into play. Since you probably don't even have ethanol in the fuel there you will probably never get to experience the chirping joy. In fact I do not recall ever seeing anybody other than North Americans that have the issue. Somebody chime in if I am wrong please.

I think you may be right. I have 2500 miles on a 2016 BRZ and no crickets. I have only put ethanol free gas in from day one though.

Temperature comes into play as well it would seem. since some come and go depending on the season.

I bought it in late December and so it's been cold since I bought it. This summer we'll see if they show...

Update: I switched from 91 octane up to 10% ethanol from Exxon, to 90 octane ethanol free from Conoco. Crickets *seem* to have stopped.

If they come back, I will update again.
