Why are you bothering to ask such a question? There are aftermarket parts for the Yaris, 458, Mazda 2, GT3. There is an aftermarket industry for just about every modern car. The standard Veyron too common for you? Mansory will help lighten your wallet.

This made me laugh. I thought it highly appropriate.

He's not though; he really believes it. It's kind of sad, like the last kid on the playground bouncing a ball by himself.

I take that back. I did some testing and there is nothing to suggest that it is short compared to the front, more the opposite actually. Probably feel the rear a bit more on high bumps because one's head sits closer to the rear axle and with the progressive bumpstops, but it's the front that bottoms out first on mine.

Rear suspension travel is effectively longer than the front mainly because the motion ratio is less due to the position of the rear coilover.

The big difference is the hardness of the bump stops. Although the motion ratio effects would apply more leverage to the rear bump stops than to the front the rear bump stops are as long as and much harder than the front bump stops.

The rear bump stops should be shorter to allow for the motion ratio difference but they aren't. The net effect is the rear suspension begins to bottom out on the bump stops much earlier and more firmly than at the front. The progressive compression of the bump stops masks this effect to some degree but it is very real and I am pretty convinced this leads to the tail happy character of this car. Certainly the spring rate doesn't explain it.

The ride on my car is much improved after fitting Bilsteins and cutting one half inch out of the hard end of each rear bump stop. Winter driving will reveal if I have achieved my primary objective of improving rear grip on snow and ice. Certainly dry road grip is unimpaired by these modifications, my car corners just as well in the dry now as it did before and probably better. My secondary objective of correcting the appalling ride has been achieved by cutting the rear bump stops. Had this not worked then I would have sold the car, even though it is a very fine product. That stock ride is just awful. I must make a note to try out the 2015 asap and see if the ride problem has been corrected by Subaru.

What would probably work even better is to fit a set of shorter rear bump stops from the TRD or Eibach lowering spring kit but so far I cannot source just those parts.

Hmm, not for the cars I favour...

I do think you have missed my point though.
