Scion FR-S Tach Sweep Video

As discussed in the comparo thread, the Scion FR-S does do a tach sweep but only if you
1) set the shift indicator on by choosing a RPM value
2) it will only sweep to the RPM value, pause, then sweep back down.

You can only set the shift indicator when the car is not moving. The ebrake does not have to be engaged.

Enjoy. I did

Whoops, Didn't see the other video in the photos section

Where did you find the info to do this? I assume it's in the manual, do you mind telling us the page?

I've got a whole folder of bookmarks specifically for day-one FR-S purchase. Things I'll have to do before even leaving the dealership. This will be added.

So far I've got:

set radio to FR-S
make sure trunk release isn't disabled
have dealer program remote car finder
have dealer do DRL delete(same way as above)

Judging from point #1, does this mean it doesnt sweep unless you set the shift RPM light on?

And the audible beep, is that the shift beep (like in an ISF) where it beeps if you redline telling you that its time to shift (so you dont have to look at the tach)?

I just noticed I said "Rev limiter" in the video. That would be terrible if I limited my RPM to 4000. LOL

I didn't read the book, I just noticed the sweep today after I set the Rev indicator. Instructions on how to set it are on page 161

I haven't tried this myself but page 161 of the manual says it beeps when the rev indicator light turns on.

Yes, it beeps like the LFA you set it after the light. All you have to do is turn it on.

That's cool. Does the BRZ have the same feature?
