Product review separate from vendor review?

What's the possibility for a sub forum dedicated to it?

Likely. But why not ask? That way they can be consolidated and not scattered around in every single sub forum possible. I'd even manage it.

I like product review sections personally. Makes it easy to go read and compare stuff

Well, it's not a technical forum, it's opinion based that can be backed up my tech if the poster so chooses so.

In my head it will reduce the clutter of 10,000 exhaust posts of "omg this sounds amazing" or "zomg it's way too loud"; amongst other standard product review posts.

It'll keep the technical forums for technical topics such as "how to's" while giving a spot for the "which intake looks best" people not to clutter the tech forums, which drive all of us old angry people nuts.

I thought the DIY section was for the technical topic "how to's". I agree that we all get tired of someone making a post just to say they bought X exhaust from X vendor and it is the greatest thing since sliced bread.

My point is that we don't really have a spot for it, and we don't know where it should go.

I think a product review section is a great idea. I also think that it should be heavily moderated so things don't degrade into a discussion of x part vs y part, as that belongs elsewhere.

^This

That is the issue...

Also having multiple review on same item. Same thread? Different thread? If we can get something figured out, I bet we can do this.

I bet you also loves the shipping eta, spot on the order list and OMG I just ordered then can't wait, ask others for when they ordered and hold hands.
Totally technical.

Mutiple reviews on same product by different people is fine.
Different thread is fine, since the lowest common denominator uses review as an ego boost session so they don't bother searching for previous threads anyway.

People are already doing all this in the "technical" sections.

On the last car forum I was on, they had a review sub forum, with exhaust, intake, suspension, tires, all that crap and it really worked out well. Just easy to go click on that and see peoples real experience with a bunch of different parts. I can pm you the forum link if you want to check it out...
