Send him down to Toro Rosso and bring up Gasly. Would send a message to the whole organization re: teamwork. At this point, Ricciardo is probably telling Christian Horner "him or me. Keep him as a teammate and I'm gone". Wouldn't blame him a bit. Verstappen's a liability until he learns how to play with others.

That's what can happen when you have let your drivers race hard. Interesting that Ricciardo agrees it was a racing incident, very mature from him IMO.

I reckon he’d probably publicly agree to diffuse the situation and move on... privately would likely be a very different matter.

Perfect example of why the double defending rule exists, and not enforcing it here is the stupidest decision by the FIA since, well, Baku last year lol. The more confidence drivers have that their opponent will leave the required space will only increase the number of on-track battles, not discourage them.

Also, Vettel is still crap at going wheel to wheel...

Given how they had been racing each other he should have known that he would be fighting with someone over aggressively defending the position.

Or good public cover for his real (more personal) opinion. Face it, Ricciardo knows how to drive a fast car. Verstappen knows how to drive a car fast. Ricciardo is the better driver by far and if Red Bull wants to keep him they'd better start making some changes to prove it.

Let's see...Max has 4 crashes in 4 races? That's efficient...NOT! He's no longer a teen wonder. He needs to start growing up, regardless of his daddy's influence.

And that's exactly what led to the crash. Ricciardo saw Verstappen closing the door way late (absolutely a 2nd block) and turned outwards to avoid crashing for the 10th time assuming V was just going to dive for the apex as usual. From my viewpoint, that's really the only thing R could have done under the conditions and maybe it was too late anyway. R might have gotten out of it if his wing didn't wash out from V changing direction a third time to the outside under braking.

The double block is a Verstappen special that's happened quite a few times and the FIA doesn't seem to want to enforce the rule. Problem is, at a certain point the is no way physics will allow you to escape when he surprises you late.

Rumors are that Ricciardo has been in talks with Ferrari to replace Kimi, and heck how could you blame him if he were to go that route. Verstappen let last seasons successes get to his head and is pushing too hard without the needed experience to become a young F1 champion. Hope he cools off a little bit before he becomes the next Kvyat

I think a race on the sidelines will help Max to reflect on his driving a bit, and something which would have been justified as punishment for what happened in Baku (along with his other 3 incidents from the last 3 races). He needs to calm down his aggressiveness, he's obviously bloody quick, but it won't be worth for anything if he keeps throwing it away through brain farts behind the wheel.

Man, Verstappen didn't have anyone to "race" today so I guess he had to make due under VSC lol.

How far back to the archives go? I mean, I could listen to Murray Walker commentate on driving slowly to the grocery store and be enthralled for hours
