I love driving that car. Being able to steer it with the ass end is entertaining to no end.

I haven't played video games since wolfenstein came out.

Given that...

So, let's say you were willing to spend a good amount of money on a setup to start racing, and have the room in your house, what would you get?

Well, if you want to go all out from the get-go. I would go Fanatec. But is more about what you want to play. Which would sort of affect your Fanatec choice.

As far as games, if you want to play Gran Turismo, you need a PS4/5. It is a fair simulator. If you want another level of immersion, also get a PSVR2, which completely changes the experience. Other than that, PC has every flavor of racing games such as Asseto Corsa Competizione, which is fantastic, Asseto Corsa, iRacing, Rfactor, F1.

Not saying that you can't play some of the mentioned games on PS5, PC just makes everything better with a higher FPS Count/ Resolution.

Once you have decided on that, you can go for a Fanatec GT DD Pro, DD+, Clubsport, etc.
For me, I went with a GT DD Pro with a Load Cell Brake Kit (+Tunning Kit), Quick Release 2 upgrade.

After that, get a good wheel stand, one that either comes with a seat, or a foldable arm that can lock your gaming chair wheels close to it.

Talking March Events

In March we are going to do Spec E46 and 90's Super Cars

The supercar choices are as follows:
  • Porsche 993 RS (not the CS)
  • C4 Corvette ZR1
  • First gen NSX Type R
  • Porsche 964 Turbo 3.6"clone" (if you wanna take this route ask me for details, involves 959 engine swap)
  • Lambo Countach 25th Anniversary
  • Ferrari Testarossa.

The rules will be:
  • 585 PP limit
  • No weight reduction
  • No ballast
  • No non stock boost
  • No aero (except the stock style add-on wing for Countach & Porsche)
  • Full custom suspension required
  • stock brake system required
  • Race brake pads
  • stock transmission (except 911 Turbo 3.6 - gears set to match OEM).
  • stock LSD
  • Sport soft tires

Wheels/offsets are your choice. Engine boltons (I/H/E) & Sport Computer are allowed as long as cars stay under 585PP cap. Basically, the intent is to keep cars as close to true form as possible.

If interested in joining this series, cars are being assigned (ask for more details).

If you can attend the races tonight, car picking (for the 90s) will be done after. Blair (Maranello Man) will be using some random wheel spinner for selection order.

Also I won't be racing tonight, heading out of town for a ski trip (won't actually be back for weekly races until first week of March).

At this point I'm pretty sure any update to GT7, going forward, will be worthless.

I'm just glad that we were allowed to adjust the suspension. Made the NSX drivable for me. lol. I don't think I like MR cars very much. Hoping to best you next week with it. LOLOLOL

Have any one of you managed to gold the final IA license in the 917K? I’m like 5 seconds off right now but holy shit is it frustrating. Took about 30 minutes to set two laps.
