I think the general rule is 75 mph in the "pass lane". I always go that speed and never gotten a ticket. Limit is 65 on 408 expressway here and on shitty I-4 it's 55. Of course I get on 417 expressway and people are blowing by me doing 85-90, think speed limit is 70.

I haven't owned a ton of cars in my many years of driving, but my FR-S is the only car that I've ever owned that I've never even been pulled over in.
*knock on wood* Funny thing is that of all the cars I've owned,it would seem like I would've been pulled over in it more that all of my other cars. |

This has to be at least the 6th time this has been posted. It is a nice clickbait title that grabs attention just like it is supposed to so every time somebody stumbles across it they want to share this "great info".

Same here, I read a study showing in great detail that speed limits have a percentage of "lee-way" where the safety factor isn't effected due to cars around you also following that speed. Sadly in the U.S. the speed limits don't seem to be full adjusted to that.

so once, i tried. i agreed with what they were trying to do, and i agreed people need to slow down in construction zones. so that time, as i entered the construction zone, i got over to the far right lane, and set cruise control at exactly 45mph. i might as well have been pedaling a bike at the indy 500. after nearly dying more times than i could count in 10 minutes, i gave up and sped up to traffics 60-70mph. paying even a $5,000 fine for going the speed of traffic was better than seeing my picture on the front page "local driver cause of multi-car pile up when he takes semi up ass"

^ Doing the right thing usually ends up being more dangerous, because of all the crazy people around us. There is a street close to where I live with a 35mph speed limit, which I always follow. There are several apartment complexes and a subdivision, so it’s meant to, you know, make life safer for everyone, keep you alive and stuff. I’ve been passed on that road more times than I can count, several with a one finger salute or horn honking. People are fu**ing nuts.

That's what the smart cops do. That way they can catch the speeders with radar detectors. And in some states radar detectors are illegal. So then you get arrested for even having a detector.
