Got rear-ennded ($@^@ in the ass!!!!!!!)

So I was parked in my city (Berkeley) during a busy time and I had a really bad feeling about this parking. It had enough room on each side, but for some reason I just felt like the driver was going to hit my behind but didn't have time to find parking as I was in a rush to get to class (mistake). I get back to my car and $#%&!!!!!!

The driver had screwed in two nails holding her license plate, purchased at home depot, and pierced my rear plastic piece (luckily didn't touch paint). I was wondering what are my options, I left a note but the driver hasn't called and I'm thinking of not even going through insurance since she can just say that she didn't do it.

Obviously have full coverage but I'm thinking if the OEM piece is cheap enough, I'll just buy it on my own or opt-out for the carbon fiber version. Here are some pictures

Edit: The marks look huge in the pictures but they aren't bigger than the size of a quarter.

Claims adjuster here, get the license plate and report it to your insurance company. Better to try than to just let it go.

That'll buff right out.

All joking aside.. Berkeley is a horrible city to park in. I was there 2 weeks ago parked near Toss & some POS parked behind me was 1 inch away from my rear bumper.
Yeah file an insurance claim. I'm sure that plastic thing is easy and cheap to replace.

Um.... You should quick search the board. Getting rear ended and messing up the plastic trim is one of the most common fuck ups. Bad news, its all one piece with the bumper. Min spend is gonna be 400 - 500.

I would suggest getting a bumper bully.

Just wait for the next guy to rear end you in Berkeley and file a claim with him.

lol. Those things are HIDEOUS. Call me vane, but I think I'd rather have the bumper damage.

Clearly by the tags in this thread the community at large feels that it's time to start stripping it for parts.

yeah, they are pretty ugly but you're only using it when you park. I mean, who cares if it looks ugly for a few min/hrs as long as no one is fucking up my bumper.

When you're driving you put it back in the trunk.
