Turn Key Tuning in the UK
Hi there,
Returning to the UK soon. Been looking for what car to get, can't really find anything with the right combination of looks, running costs and performance. I had an 86 before, loved it but it was too slow. So, I thinks, what about a tuned 86? But I don't want to get my hands dirty. I want to buy a Primo (I hate the boot spoiler). Drop it off somewhere, give them a was of cash, and come back two weeks later and pick up a high performance daily driver to do about 20,000 miles/year. Any suggestions, pointers, etc? The follow up question is insurance suggestions with no no claims. Any pointers much appreciated, Cheers! |

Sounds like a plan if you have the budget. Any idea how much you can allocate after the initial car purchase?
In Canada, it is probably better to just purchase a 6 year old low mileage Boxster. Funny though, people have said a tuned twin is more fun to drive.

BTW, I was thinking up to £10k for the mods and £15k for a decent most likely early car. |

So now it's what you want to do.
Tires, brakes, suspension, FI, dyno tune, exhaust, cosmetic, interior. Haha, try unjumbling them in order of priority!

Oh yes! Cosmetic is easy...nothing...'cept wheels for bigger brakes and power. Suspension...hmmm....it'll need lowering a tad. The HKS supercharger adds 60hp with the stock exhaust, but 80 with the extra £2k - necessary. What is "FI"? Regardless, I can see now that £10k ain't going to do the job!!! |

I'd say fensport is a good bet, they supply the Cosworth tuning kits, whilst expensive I really like the look of their supercharger install. Very oem.
10k would probably get you a boosted engine, wheels etc- depends how far down the suspension rabbit hole you go too |

FI for more speed and tell the tuner you want a r tune that won't compromise its function and keep the car reliable or just swap some parts like headers and intake or whatever than have that tuned
