EBD is used to make sure wheels do not lock up under braking and also works with the VSC system. Instead of having a prop valve setting F/R bias the system can figure out how much force is needed at each wheel. The brake assist will monitor the rate you are pushing the pedal down and if it's a high enough rate, it will apply the brakes full on for you since it assumes you are trying to stop the car. I was going to create a cheat sheet for the sequence to put in the car, but after you do it a couple times it's pretty quick. Anyone know how it determines if the vehicle is "warmed up?" I assume it's based off coolant temp/oil temp or both. |

the water temperature is a dummy gauge.
water temp don't even go up unless you run your engine moderately hard...and then have it sit still at a light. Currently in cold weather, i could be driving on the high way, and then park the car and the water temperature don't even reach 110deg.

I've noticed the ECT gauge goes up really slowly, but the sequence *only* has worked for me when the gauge is at its "normal" position.
How quickly the gauge goes up for me really depends on how I'm driving when the engine is cool. Gotta remember guys, the DI really helps keep the engine cool, especially when you're driving under low load and it's ONLY using localized lean burns. |

Yeah once you do it a couple times it's not difficult at all and takes about 10 seconds. I'm definitely going to have to test it out at an autocross to see what the differences are between using it and the normal disabling of the VSC/Trac. I haven't really noticed any brake intrusions in my previous autocrosses.

I noticed a difference doing a "mini time-attack" this weekend (think less technical autocross with multiple hotlaps). I could trailbrake into the corner much better and get rotation. I was on the OEM tires for this so they rotate really easy as is (new track tires are on order) but when attempting to trail brake before the pedal dance, the pedal would go hard like a normal car's ABS pulsing, annoying.

Are you sure it's not just confusing the ECU and causing the car to throw a fault code?
