Got my STI flexible strut tower and a rear back up camera installed:

Interestingly, the tower threw me for a loop initially because of the pillow ball joint at the center of it. Made me question how functional it was with so much flex, but once installed, there is no movement laterally. The flex is in the vertical direction to account for uneven pavement. Thus, you get the benefits of a strut tower while maintaining the same ride quality of the car.

The camera is a Rydeen Duo. Really makes it look OEM from the outside. Note that on the BRZ, there is a slight protrusion in the rear garnish that tells you where the factory camera should be located. For those interested in getting this done, see THIS and pick up SCVdx's harness off of HERE

With the BRZ and the harness provided, the entire setup was plug and play. The HU has a 6V camera output that the harness is installed directly into. The HU also automatically sends power to the unit when the car is in reverse. Makes it a really clean installation. Lines are offset to the right because of the camera position. Some may not like it but I don't mind too much. If anything, I use the camera really to see my actual distance from an object behind me rather than using it to maneuver.

Just waiting on my side markers and the last JPM trims to arrive. After that, may need to take a break from the mods; however, the heavy hitters of the full STI aero and wheels are awaiting . Problem is, now I have to start modding my go's golf TDI .

Come out to the Irvine FR-S/BRZ Meet if you are in the area, stop by! We regularly get at least 30 cars and I believe the most we've had is 50+. More details HERE.

Twinso FTW! Just found out I may not have my car in SoCal for AutoCon LA this summer like I originally anticipated so you might have to rep the WRB STI solo so... more limelight for ya but I'll find my way back home to SoCal eventually.

Edit: I mean SpoCom.

A teaser of things to come:

While my car had bits and pieces of STI parts, they were mostly limited to interior and engine components. With the lip, I am now going full on exterior treatment. While I never intended to draw more attention to my car than necessary, the kit just looks too good to not do . With this in mind, I also have a set of 17" STI wheels coming in this week as well. So much to look forward to!

I'm pretty overdue to a trip to the bay actually! May go up in the summer. Will definitely be in the bay in October/November (yeah I know its far from now) for a friend's wedding. If I'm there with the BRZ, definitely want to hit up some meets. And who knows, if my brother goes and brings his FRS, we'll be the twins shooting up north haha

Out of all the lip kits available, this probably is the one that requires the most drilling. In exchange for all that work though, you get flawless fit and finish. It is amazing how flush the lines are to the body. Now just waiting on the wheels to come in. I will take proper pictures of everything after.

These were very intriguing when I saw them in the classified section. Cool you picked them up, sorry they got damaged.

Thanks. Yeah, the seller was very forthcoming in making sure its right, especially with filing the claim with UPS. That plus I know the wheel shop I dropped it off with can make it flawless. All in all, what I lose is just a few extra days not getting them mounted, so no biggie.
