I noticed there was no tune updates on the website for the year 2014. What is up with that?

I don't think they actively monitor these anymore. I'd suggest sending a PM so they get email notification or call directly. I've gotten prompt responses when I PMd Jack recently.

I had the unichip for more than a year and no problems as of yet. My flux display did eventually break where the cable connects to the chip in the engine bay, so no more ability to switch with 5 maps. The obd still works and I use it to clear CELs my catless headers give every 500 miles after an oil change. Nbd.

This is an old thread, but seems like the right place to put this subjective review.

I bought a Unichip used from a guy in Houston for about half price, with the download cable and only the two position switch.

I have a 2015 FR-S. I got it in about a week ago and have been playing around with various maps since then (all remapping). This is my DD and I doubt that I will have much opportunity to track it, since the nearest track is 50 miles away and doesn't have the greatest hours of availability. I do enjoy enhanced performance however and driving the "Twisted Sisters" out in the Texas hill country is a definite possibility.

I settled on the maps with 92 octane, fuel normal, timing in, and a TRD CAI for map "0" and 92 octane, fuel out, timing in and TRD CAI for map "1". Then I ran the car on a number of local roads, some twisty and some high speed, to gain an impression of the performance of each map. The "0" map was very smooth, very refined, with a decent amount of pull in each gear. I attribute this to the improved torque, which allows the lower gears to be driven at a lower RPM without lugging. This is perfect for my daily commute.

The "1" setting is a different animal entirely. The engine actually snarls now (remember I have the TRD CAI, so no sound effect pipe to the passenger compartment) when floored and the torque is VASTLY improved throughout the engine's range. There is enough torque that if I launch the car from a standstill in 1st gear, there is a real capability of a long "burnout" style peel from the (skinny) tires. The shift to second (at the redline) produces a really loud and sustained "bark" and going to third produces a reasonable nice "chirp". I'm sure with better tires these tire noises would diminish quite a bit, (but in exchange for better traction.)

Installation is drop dead easy and I get to keep my warranty without any potential debates with the dealer. This is a first rate product. It was a bonus getting it at such a good price and the people at Unichip (thanks, Jack!) were helpful in getting the download rights switched over from the previous owner. All in all, a very satisfied customer.

Hi I'm going though the same issue. Did the permanent code every go away after you finally got it started. I believe I had the cps backwords also because it was just cranking. Unplugged and replugged everything and starts fine but code still there. I know this is an older post but I would appreciate any help. Thank you.

Unichip installed today and I spent the morning testing tunes.

1) Win 7 doesn't have the driver and I can't find it anywhere even with the login info. Win 10 does have the driver already. My desktop- win 7, I can't reflash the maps. My wife's laptop- win 10, it works fine and I can load maps just fine.

2) This should be in the OP- If you install the Unichip and it seems right but you get crank with no start and get P0103 (Mass or Volume Air Flow Sensor "A" Circuit High) and P0335 (Crankshaft Position Sensor "A" Circuit), you just installed one of the CPS plugs backwards. It looks like it goes one way, but it goes the other.

3) I have a Weapon R Secret Weapon Intake, gutted secondary cat, Berk dual muffler delete. I'm using the Scion FR-S Weapon R CAI, All CatB, 93 Oct - Neg Fuel map and it feels fantastic. My primary map is the immobilizer which works.

TRD CAI, All Catback + ((Fuel -, Timing +)) worked very similar to the Weapon R fuel - map. In fact, there's almost no difference but I have a Weapon R intake so I use the Weapon R map because... Weapon R

Scion FR-S Weapon R CAI, All CatB, 93 Oct - Pos Fuel didn't feel quite as good and power delivery was a little uneven. It was kind of weird.

I tried a few other maps and they mostly felt sluggish from 1st gear take off. The 87 fuel in/timing out was a dog LOL. I felt like I was driving my old Versa.

1. Who is using a unichip by itself with e85?

2. Who is using a unichip with an ethanol flex kit with e85?

How long did #1 take to install?

How long did #2 take to install?

For #1, how are you managing e85 gas that is E50?

For #2, have you had any issues with the system automatically adjusting for varying ethanol content?

For either, is the un-installation truly phantom? (where the dealer has no way of finding out that this was installed

Anyone not happy with the unichip or discover issues?
