Install is not hard...its pretty straightforward. The most "challenging" thing would be trimming up the bumper beam. But everything else is just bolting things into place basically.

UEL vs. EL...lol never ends.

Probably posted this already but my UEL GTX2867r made 442whp/346wtq on e85, 16.5psi.

I have a dyno sheet somewhere lol

Edit: for supporting mods, I know he also had an oil cooler, 700cc injectors, AEM failsafe, grimmspeed EBC, clutch, etc.

That would probably be me, Lol

I do not know. That depends on the turbo itself.

From what I've heard, the GTX2867's "reliable" headroom is around 400. Maybe more with internals and other crazy stuff.

Though, if you're looking for anything about 350, I've heard the GTX30 series is a better fit for the higher power since its transient response is better than the 28 whereas the 28's initial response is insane.

If you're not looking to go crazy, the GTX28 should be a good fit. Up to you.

Thanks. Although i was referring to the precision base turbo. The base dyno on the jdl site says about 270-280 but i wasn't sure if thats on 91 octane.

Does anyone else have issues with their driver side fan melting from the turbo? I know I'll need a blanket, but I was really hoping the ceramic coating would be enough.

I haven't had any issues with mine melting, Then again I run a DEI turbo blanket so the radiant heat doesn't leak to the surrounding components. Do you run a aftermarket fan shroud with slim fans?

I haven't gotten the fan shroud from JDL yet. But I do have the slim fans.

I Would get one asap, it will keep the fans as close as possible to the radiator itself. But if you just run slim fans without the plastic shroud then that would be sufficient, but it never hurts to get one. Plus you should really look at getting a blanket, it would pay for itself in the savings you'll get from buying new fans every time they melt. I personally run a Fullblown Motorsports Slim should with spal fans it's awesome and the clearance with the JDL kit is nice.

I'm wondering what oil coolers you guys put with your JDL kit. I'm looking to get a Setrab 9 series cooler to fit in between my intercooler and stock ac condenser/radiator. I'm not sure if this would fit nicely.

I have the skunk2 Kit. Once I get my turbo kit from jdl we will see if it fits. Fingers crossed
