Widebody Fender Liner solution?
Hey everyone,
Now that I've installed my wide angle steering kit, I'm having even more issues with my front tires rubbing on both the outer fender and inside fender liner on full lock, so I've decided to get wheel spacers and wider front fenders like the Todoroki ones. Since this is my DD, I'd like to keep/replace the fender liners. Will I still be able to keep the OEM liners on when I install wider fenders? Does anyone have any ideas for filling in the extra 30mm gap? I'm mostly worried about rust and debris getting into the engine bay. What does everyone else with a widebody kit do about this? As you can see without the fender liners, there's pretty big holes leading into the engine bay

The todoroki's aren't fully wider. Since they are narrow in the front and back and only get wider at the top wheel arch most that run liners just run the stock ones. You can use zip ties to hold them at the tops and the factory pushpins for the front and rear.
Or you can undo the fender liner and pull it outward (and drill new holes) so it fill the gap. The front sections and the opening in the engine bay should have enough overlap to close the 30mm gap.

You could attach a piece of plastic(like the fender liner) to the hole in the engine bay and just leave the rest of the fender uncovered

The fender liners are surprisingly rigid so even after you lose the stock fender they should still sit in place just fine. Mine with RB kit are trimmed a bit on the outer edge and on the front, but still hang in place with OEM clips and totally cover those holes into the engine bay.

I thought about that I'd also like to avoid the sounds of rocks hitting the bare metal and rust caused from the paint getting sandblasted every day.

If your worried about the sound, just hit the backside/wheel well with some SEM/3M Black undercoating. Comes in a rattle can and is like a softer ruberized bed liner. Just remember to mask off everything as it does splatter and go on thick.

I formed some new ones out of aluminum. They bolt in in 4 places and then used self leveling seam sealer around the edges before the engine bay was sprayed.
