@shiv@vishnu My cousin who got the tablet from you @ the NorCal meet is getting the CEL P0700 after installing catless headers and flashing 1.3. Any ideas? It's an AT FRS.

That's a transmission code...I can't imagine it's related to the tune at all.

Just to add, here's the DTC explanation of that code:

(DTC) CODE # P0700....Transmission Control System (MIL Request) Translation: Transmission Control Module (TCM) Malfunction or Failure. P0700 Information Code The Transaxle Control Module (TCM) monitors the malfunction of sensors and actuators relating to transaxle control. If any malfunction is detected, the TCM informs the PCM by sending a signal (P0700 code). P0700 means that a code has been set in the TCM. This code is for information ONLY. If this code is present, check for transaxle codes. So basically, the P0700 code is telling you to check the TCM for a transaxle DTC. The TCM can not turn on the check engine light so it has the PCM do it.

I know it's the transmission code but the weird thing is that it wasn't there until after the flash.

Sounds like a connector on the transmission was unplugged when the header was installed.

Picking up BRZ tomorrow. OFT in hand. Catless EL header ordered, no ETA.

Upon install of the latter my question is whether an O2 spacer is necessary with this tune to avoid the CEL or whether it must/can be turned off safely with Tuner Pro?

Welcome fellow South Carolinian. You should not need the spacer. I plan to get rid of mine once my OFT arrives.

Thank you. reading these threads reminds me once again why I am thankful I do not live in California. Octane and emissions just a small part of that equation.

Does that mean that this build has already turned off the 2nd sensor?

He was on 1.2 prior to this. Will have him downgrade to 1.2 then to stock before back to 1.3 to see if CEL still exist.

We will check on that tmr but we didn't take any connectors off except for the o2 sensors. I'll have him flash back down to 1.2 to see if the CEL pops up again then back to 1.3 if it doesn't. But if it does pop back up, do you know where exactly the connectors would be located? All we did was loosen the bolts on the front pipe/overpipe to get the headers off. I doubt we hit anything to break off or loosen when uninstalling/installing the headers.

It turns off the error code for the o2 sensor.

Not sure it turns the sensor off (i.e. heater), but keeps the CEL from coming on in relation to at least catalyst check (possibly heater malfunctions too).

Hmm, maybe it's just me but 1.3 feels more sluggish than 1.2. I did some comparisons and ignition advance looks to have been adjusted significantly in the low rpm range. I know you did this in the interest of knock prevention, but what does it look like on a dyno?

For comparison, here is stock vs 1.2 vs 1.3

From the testing we have done, dyno looks the same. But with the earlier map, the brief MAF voltage spikes would make ecu follow the high load cells that had big ignition correction values. This caused the knock activity in the 2500-3200rpm area. The new map just accounts for the MAF spike and limits total timing under load.
