A) swap the TPMS from your stock wheels which is a PITA since you have to dismount tires to get to them
B) not get TPMS sensors and deal with the annoying light and potentially a fix it ticket if the cop is a ****
C) buy 4 tpms sensors (I recommend Ebay, I got 4 used ones for $40 and they all work) and buy a ATEQ QuickSet TPMS Reset Tool Amazon.com: ATEQ QuickSet TPMS Reset Tool: Automotive for $150 and easily swap between wheels/tires whenever you want
D) buy 4 tpms sensors and have a place like Discount Tire (new TPMS is ~$40/ea sensor) swap your tires and pay them a small fee everytime.

If you plan on getting another set of wheels, then maybe try and get the dealer to through in 4 new TPMS sensors too!!
Thanks, good thing I checked this thread before making another call... So far my responses to throwing in snow tires gave ranged from "I don't think you can put snow tires on this" to a polite "No"... But there is promise with one dealer who seems a bit desperate to get this base FRS off of his lot...

Don't know if this was stated or not, but I would test drive a fully broke in model (used) so you can shift at the higher ends of the tack. The car comes alive after 5000 rpms.

Yes! Even though my drive back is only 3 miles and in this weather, the car doesn't even warm up completely by the time I reach home!

With such a long commute, I'd also make sure to test drive the new GTI and Mustang. You might find you like refinement and torque when traveling in straight lines for long distances.

No problemo, I researched the &*(^ out of the TPMS sensors before getting wheels.

Silly sales people, of course you can put snow tires on it!! I wouldn't trust that sales person from there on out!

Two hours each way at least twice a week and would not want to be doing it in anything else even if straight!

Hah you're a trooper! I wouldn't mind doing that commute in the FR-S either, but given that OP is coming from an Accord, he might want more refinement/space.

I came out of a series of 3 Lancers GTS/GTs and believe me I do not miss the space or gadgetry one bit. Now mind you it is always just me and a laptop so size isn't an issue.
The thing I like most over the other cars is the maneuverability on the highway. Where sheer muscle power may be nice for merging or passing the ability to pop in and out of lanes (and avoid danger) is a treat. My 08 GTS had loads of speed but passing a truck was always a study in abject terror! This was mostly due to the high speed handling deficiencies and aerodynamics of a sedan that let the truck slipstream grab you right at the worst moments.

Yeah I know what you mean. Something about the size, seating position and agility of these cars makes them feel like an extension of the self. Reminds me of Mazda's philosophy for the Miata - "jinba ittai". Horse and rider are one.
