LOL. Over on the Demon Armchair Quarterback forum .... they are calling to ban all slow cars (86). Slow cars on the freeway are dangerous because fast cars have to dodge them.

Just a dumb ass article. How about we ban offshore power boats with their multiple SC engines? Boats don't even have brakes.

People always want to eliminate anything that may be dangerous to protect all the other mindless, texting sheep driving around in appliances posing as cars.

while I think wanting to ban performance vehicles outright is ludicrous, I believe there is a valid question of how much is too much...virtually any car sold today, especially above $30 K, has performance that cannot be entirely exploited on the streets (legally speaking of course)...we're all buying into performance on paper & bragging rights. If I'm being totally honest, the arguments for limiting street car performance outweighs the only argument the other side has side, which is just being able to have the freedom. There is a bit of a philosophical clash between capitalism & social progress. It isn't entirely unfathomable to have at least some regulation whether it is like how the GT-R can detect whether it is at a track or how some high performance cars have multiple keys..while we can all point to the driver we all know there is no shortage of fools and accidents.

Keep the Dodge Demon off our roads

From its barely legal slick tires to its monstrous acceleration, the Challenger Demon introduced in New York this month is the result of a sequence of misguided corporate choices that places bragging rights ahead of public safety.

Get more bean bag chairs, and whatever else the snow flakes need to survive the Demon.

Freedom and responsibility are always tied together. Freedom is the most important concept to human race. Banning freedom is entirely irresponsible.

Seconded. I too think we should also banish these demons back to the netherworld. I also think we should ban the base Challenger and all other sports cars, for the good of the American public, even if it means banning the 86 and BRZ as well.

Now, does that sound stupid to you? A fucking Prius with a drunk behind the wheel is far more dangerous than a Demon owner. The Demon is priced high enough that no teenager without rich parental help will be able to own, anyway.
