I'm a go for this action. Maybe it could produce 230hp , and close to 190 torque... would be a sensible move.

because that has always been the wildly unconfirmed rumor because people think the current car is underpowered.

I'd rather they revise the current engine to make it able to rev higher, make the oiling system much stronger, and remove the other issues. They should aim for the F20 from the s2000, or at least aim for Toyota's own 2zz.

More displacement is probably the only way you'd be able to get a notable power bump in the platform if you want to keep the car NA, which seemed like a big priority for Tada since the car was initially designed.

The car isn't underpowered but it is virtually the slowest car in its class/price range. Lack of torque was also the single biggest gripe about this car so it wouldn't surprise me if Toyota tried to negate that complaint.

You’re right. This is exactly why I think the 2.4 is most plausible. We’ll see a hybrid 2.0 before a higher revving 2.0 or a turbo.

Neither of those motors will pass current emissions. The 2017-on FA20 doesn’t even pass Euro emissions. It doesn’t even pass US emissions in the auto! The 2.0 NA is done, unless you want a power cut down to ~180 (I wonder why the Miata sits at 2 liters and 180hp, hmmm).

Only way to keep the power even the same, let alone increase it, and stay NA, is to make the motor bigger.

More rumours and no it's not from mororing.com.au.
DUDE! It is still a clickbait quoting another clickbait and adding their own speculation to the mix. Then motoring will grab this and add more. Then this one will grab that and add more. Then people will talk about it on a forum and they will grab that as "insider" info. It is the cycle of clickbait.

Maybe, maybe not. You don't know where they got their source of information from, that in itself is speculation. If you're only interested in reading an article quoted by the Subaru or Toyota president standing behind a speaker's lectern, fair enough, others on the site might be interested.

Understand this is not your cup of tea. At the end of the day no one is holding a gun to your head and forcing you to read it.

And nobody will stop me from reading it and voicing my opinion on the matter either. Speculation is fun and all but these sites are presenting fiction as fact. I don't want to read anything where either president is "quoted" by these "journalist" since it will just be distorted and twist for the sake of clicks anyway. The gullible that want to believe this stuff and wait are missing out on what there is now.
So far my predictions have been far more accurate than anything these sites make up.
We shall see.

Yeah agree the Platform now is pretty damn good and I wouldn't necessarily wait on the sidelines for the new model as you'd miss out on driving a fun vehicle now. Different of course if Subaru/Toyota officially revealed the next model etc.
