Not going to happen here for sure. I really am going to film the box being taped shut and put in the shipper's possession.

Maybe but, that's why I offered so much info so they could see that I wasn't. If I gave all my online accounts where I sell items including here and they are all 100% positive along with any personal info that included my own business info, I thought that would put anybody at ease. Pretty sure I have a buyer now though after I initially scared everybody off.

Oh I didn't mean that it was a fair assessment. People wanting refundable payment methods it is just one of the things to watch out for when buying since that is exactly what a sacmmy seller would love.

Just an example, there's plenty of other ways around that. "Part wasn't as described, shipped it back". Paypal won't care about proof. The buyer is everything since that's really where they make money. And with so many people buying stuff through paypal it's hard for a seller not to accept it (see this thread lol).

banks or payment processors taking the side of the buyer isn't anything new... it's really no different than you making a claim on a service that was not provided by a (insert business of your choice here) and filing a chargeback.

At the end of the day, if you wish to resell something, you take on the risks associated with being a seller. Like it or not, the customer/buyer always wins if you really take it to the end.

Paypal as a payment method is pretty much as good as it gets (for the seller). If you insist on using a payment method that "protects you" against scammers, at the end of the day you'll look like a scammer.

this is why i just plain don't sell anything. i give stuff away to local people if they've got a need, but that's about it.

i found a bose speaker once at goodwill. $5. after a few months, realized i was never going to use it, so i ebayed it. $75-shipped. then the buyer wasn't happy with my shipping quote. -sellers fee, -shipping, -ebay fee, -insertion fee, the final profit was $20. for what turned out to be almost 4 hours of work taking pictures, negotiating shipping price, and finally boxing and sending the speaker...

Solution:

In person cash deals only. Then it's over and done with.
