It was down E Tacoma at River Road and Pioneer Way E.
Had the windows down and never heard such a cacophony there before. Enough to wake the dead across the road.

Yep, I know exactly where that is and I was startled there one day driving my MX-5 (with the top down). For the other folks viewing, when you are on that road, there is a double set of train tracks (a major rail corridor) a few yards away, down hill and behind the trees (so you can't the train). So, when it blasts its horn and/or applies the brakes for the curve, one wonders where in the hell the train is coming from! - humfrz |

Drove 1500 miles in 4 days, round trip, to visit daughter #3 in Louisiana. Did not crash. Got to visit with my Louisiana granddaughter, and wish the family well as they await the arrival of their second kid (grandkid #11 for me).
Did not crash, but I did visit the Louisiana Food Truck Expo.

On my way to work this morning, an 06 to 07 WRX was trying to goad me into a race and almost hit me while trying to pass me with oncoming traffic coming. Guess he didn't accelerate as fast as he had hoped and had to come back into my lane a lot sooner.
Thank goodness for brakes. |

Drove my car today. It is raining right now and there is quite a bit of standing water on the road. It became evident that I need new tires.
Made it to work; Did not crash!

It’s smart to slip in water to indicate that you need new tires. Same with brakes. I normally wait till they don’t work anymore to change them since it’s impossible to see the pads.

During my weekday "bus runs" today, I stopped into Best Buy to buy a new computer mouse (I didn't know those things wore out - ).
When pulling up to a parking stop (painted bright yellow), I over ran over it real good, when I backed off of it, I was sure the front lip was going to tear off - Maybe I just don't see bright yellow concrete things too good? OR, maybe I've been soo focused on not backing into things in parking lots, I forgot to look where I was going forward - Which reminds me of a back in the day story. My good friend called me one Friday night and ask me if I would go with him to make a milk run down to Kentucky, because his older brother was sick (it was a family business). I said OK. Why did he want ME to come along? Because I was 16 and had a drivers license, he was 15 and just had a learners permit (needed a licensed driver along). So, at 0600 Saturday, we fired up this International Harvester, cab over, diesel tractor, pulling a long, loaded, bulk milk trailer. We had just got into Kentucky and he asked me to drive, cause he was getting sleepy. So, this was the first time I had driven a tractor-trailer rig. He mentioned to be real careful going through these small towns and watch the trailer on the turns. We entered this one little town, going slightly downhill, and I was totally concentrating on which gear I was in and on which side of the 2-speed axle I was in and watching that the trailer didn't run over something, when he yelled STOP! I slammed on the air brakes and looked down in front of me and here was this poor old lady in a sedan stopped at the light with a petrified look on her face about two feet in front of the truck. So, when I tried to back up, this poor man behind me was honking on his horn. So, I just sat there, totally embarrassed until all the cars moved on and then I finished my turn, taking up the whole intersection and the trailer rode up over the curb smashing a trash can. So, really, I did not crash - THE END |
