TRD Front Canards on BRZ front bumper?

I’m taking a bit of a risk as I ordered and received a set of these canards recently. I haven’t attempted the install yet and I’m a little wary since it requires drilling. My friends and I think it should work, especially since the canards are more of a rubbery flexible material rather than hard plastic or CF.

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone else has installed these on a brz before as they are technically shaped for JDM GT86 front bumpers.

I found one person with an older brz who tried it and while the canards weren’t lined up super well, it looked doable.

Would be cool to see if others have done this install on a BRZ before as well.

Thanks in advance.

I don’t want CF though and most of not all are CF. I think there’s a chance they’d fit okay given the material they’re made of. It’s just hard to be sure since the bolts are built in, not removable, and thus it’s hard to test fit.

That definitely helps. The core idea is confirming they can be installed on a non GT86/FRS bumper. I’d been looking a bit with a friend who installed them recently on his FRS and thought it looked doable. But having examples is always helpful.

The black car has TRD canards (I think he has Verus now) in that picture.

You can see yours have a squared “lip” at the end and the TRD are flat.

Yeah, I only noticed that after I linked it. Was never interested in canards myself so I hadn't learned to tell the difference before but now it's clearly a different shape.

The TRD dive planes, are the rubber, pedestrian friendly ones? I'd think they would flex enough to fit the bumper difference, but have not actually messed with them.

Yep, that's why I winded up ordering them. My friend had recently bought and installed them on his FRS and we both thought it fairly reasonable to get them to confirm to a slightly differently contoured bumper.

Haven't done the install yet but it's definitely looking/sounding more and more feasible. The important thing is using the templates well enough for the positioning of where to drill the two holes for each.

Hey Spike, I installed them on my '16 BRZ...Was @ the kickoff, banner was BAKO86...Talk to Neal, he saw how they are mounted ") !!!
Still not technically advanced enough to upload photo's...But put tools in my hand & it's a done deal...Installed mine a little more vertical to match the lines, maybe a little more push, but to me not noticeable...
Photo's in Garage...
