I was in San Diego this past week and stopped by the California Wolf Center in Julian. It was difficult to get any good shooting positions because of the limited access and I was in the middle of a larger group. I managed to snap this one but didn't think much of it until I got back home. I think I might play around with it a bit more in lightroom before making a print to hang on the wall

Was out eating ice cream with a friend, decided to take photos with some cool yellow flowers.

All photos are ISO100, f/2.8 @ 50mm. Sigma 17-50 f/2.8.

Trying to get better at using BG/FG objects to improve composition. Rather than just snapping off the same boring car pics.

Okay, so tried rollers this weekend. Definitely tough to get it right. Shooting at 1/60 or even 1/100, it's very tough to get a stable shot, especially when you're in a stiff car. Got a couple nice ones though.

Then this morning, I went to a Porsche Club of America Autocross and Concours and snapped some pics just for fun.

Getting the right amount of wheel motion while still maintaining a high enough shutter speed to keep the car sharp is a pretty finicky process!

Yes, somebody was racing a Macan. At least it was an S!

Do you have a monopod? You can find them fairly cheap and are great for panning shots if you're shooting below 1/100 and don't want to shell out the dough for a lens with panning-focused stabilization. (however, if you do, the 70-200mm f/2.8 ISII will be your best friend)

That's a solid idea! Been thinking about getting a monopod for a bit now. Not sure if I can afford the 70-200 though :P

Anyone out there taking pictures of the eclipse? I traveled to Oregon to see it. Simply amazing to say the least. My 5d4 setup was having issues but I am ridiculously impressed with how well my Canon M6 handled.
