The rear rollers power the front rollers. I'm assuming it's a final load tester before it rolls out of the factory.

Hmm, but it's interesting that at that same moment the narrator happened to be talking about Subaru's AWD platforms and how in the future they will benefit from what FHI learned while developing the BRZ. Foreshadowing? I think the next WRX will be based on the BRZ platform. Sure the BRZ might not have enough room for an AWD transmission, but after watching this video I've learned a bunch of new car design tricks that I would never have considered before. FHI went against the mainstream. They thought outside the box for so many of the BRZ's subsystems that I believe they could do the same for an AWD transmission.

Anyway, this video puts me solidly in the Subaru camp, whereas before I was a firm believer in the pure/bare-bones nature of the FR-S. I still appreciate purity, but now I have so much more respect for the folks at FHI that made this project happen. Lots of pride in the Subaru nameplate.

Love this quote, and shows exactly why I'm interested in the BRZ to begin with:

"There are a number of ways of increasing performance, with engine power output probably the most recognizable. Tires with a high level of grip are also essential. These items can all be modified by customers after they have purchased a car. But designing a low center of gravity body from scratch can only be achieved by the car's manufacturer. And that is what we have done."

Also, did this quote crack anyone else up?

"We tested the BRZ on roads around the world, from Europe to America. America in particular had large stretch of rough roads."

So embarrassing, our roads really do suck.

Good video, just wish it was in english sheesh... 16 minutes of subtitles... arghh

Does anyone else think the suspension tuning on the BRZ will equate to better ride quality and more safety understeer than the FR-S?

I find it odd that the FR-S will be faster stock than the BRZ... looks like Subaru designed this as more of a dd/occasional track car, and toyota designed it to be a fun track car.

Great video/movie. Should be required watching before purchase of the car. Definitely required watching to join this forum.

Classic subaru bahahah. Oddly though- toyota is fiscally responsible for warranty claims, since they (as much as you would never know from this video...) came up with the concept of a low hood/CoG and realized they needed a subie motor, but wanted their DI system on it, Sub said it won't work, Toyota said yeah it will, we'll even pay to prove it. And pay they have.... hahaha

Watching this made me so pumped to own my BRZ! Seeing how excited the engineers get over talking about the process and design of the car just makes me smile.
