I just don't see the market for this car.

1. This segment (assuming price is from $45K-$75K) is already flooded, and there are fewer sports car buyers every day.
2. Modders? This car is going to be too expensive for modders.
3. Nostalgia market? Aside from the badge, there's nothing nostalgic about it, and the people who actually grew up with Supras that aren't stuck in SUVs can afford a Porsche/BMW/Corvette.
4. Single-purpose sports car enthusiasts? We see how well the 4C did in that market.
5. Older Millennials who loved the Supra in games? Few have the money.

I just don't get it. When I have Supra money, I'll be haunting the Porsche or BMW dealership's door. I just can't see many people with that kind of money deciding on a Supra (which is actually a BMW). And remember, for most people this will be a second car. Which again, means the demographic for this vehicle is wealthy people. Wealthy people don't buy badge-engineered Toyota sports cars.

Yes. Yes this is true.
The NOS sales may skyrocket though!

Yea, the interior is literally straight BMW:

I suspect different labeled software, steering wheel and different material trim between the Z4 and Supra however. Similiar to what toyota did on the mazda based iA

I don't know enough of what BMW or high end Toyota interiors look like to be able to tell!

The good part about what we can tell from the camoed body is that it looks almost the same as the 86 so I can just buy some $3 Ebay plastic Supra badges, slap some Walmart fake vents on the sides and convince 99.999% of the public I have the new Supra. Can save all sorts of cash.

With US tarrifs still up in the air, I wouldn't be surprised to see $150k OTD by the time it gets to dealers.

I could see them dropping the 86 in the US in a heartbeat if the tariffs are applied.
For a year maybe, but I bet the price jumps up shortly afterwards.

LOL You may have a wait ahead of you. The last word spoken on that subject was in 2015. It went from pretty promising to "a what?" in a few months.

Idk how trustworthy the insiders on the SupraMKV forums are, but one of them recently said the SF-R was 80-90% done but got canned. I’m very annoyed as the 86, SF-R, and Supra could have been a semi-decent lineup of sports cars. Ah well.

That is sad if the interior is 1:1 with the Z4. From the looks of that photo it is 100% BMW. Every single detail. I'm thinking maybe that is just a prototype interior and they will swap it out in the end but why try to cover up a prototype? I am assuming this photo came from Goodwood. Anyone know?

As long as they keep sending us Canadians 86s, I'd be fine with that. We didn't vote the guy in!

Come to think of it, an electric 86 would be great - we can one-up those E85 guys with our e-86!
