Major weight reduction breakthrough!
Got all the Tar and under carpet foam out of the interior today

No need for dry ace a few seconds with torch and it turns to goo. Easily scraped up. Also allows you to get the horizontal areas

Tar locations:
Trunk
Behind Rear Speaker
Under Rear passenger foot
Under front seat feet
Side or Radio console

Behind the rear speakers first

rear seats floor and you can see the heavy under carpet foam

side of stereo console

More heavy rubber backed foam

Passenger side done

Foam weight

Tar weight

Heavy chunks

Back together like nothing happened

Final Weight Tally
Under foam = 6.25lbs
Tar = 6.5lbs

New Car weight 2453lbs

Just think of all you can save if you ditch the plastic trim, carpet, speakers, radio, headliner, AC, Airbags, AC ventilation ducting, air bag computer, seat belt and airbag wiring, windows, regulators etc

The cage? Oh it doesn't weight thaaaaaaatttttt much

Props for sharing all these details. Have you taken any corner weights? I'm interested in how the balance may be shifting (or not).

No I would guess from what ive seen with these cars is the driver front has the most weight. Taking out the A/C condenser, lighter seat/mount, windshield washer removal should balance it out.

I have calculated file above

134.25 Front

91.25 Middle

95.5 Rear

removed

Ive got a few more goodies hitting in the next month then I will at least go to a truck stop to get weighted

@SuperTom
That rear seat is looking clean.
It looks like it’s extended/flat all the way to the back of front seats?
Can it hold any weight, like groceries or a gym bag?
You update your DIY with what you got now?
That’s one of the next things I plan on doing real soon.

Its flat then bolts down to the stock back seat bolt location. Its the same style as the one in my DIY. I just used only coroplast to make it to save some weight. No it won't support weight unless you brace it. Its really just so I don't have bare metal I Still like the car to look stockish with all this weight reduction since I DD it.

Also cut off the Japanese tie downs hooks. Not a lot of weight and a PIA to cut off but incase anyone was wondering the weight. 1.5lbs for both

Had to cut in pieces to get off easier

Painted everything after cutting the welds

only 1.5lbs

Last time it was on scales was pre cage and fire suppression, and it sat at 2460 ish with an almost empty tank. It's gained the cage tubing, padding, paint, and all the lifeline Zero360 parts. But it also lost the windows, door guts, a bunch of wiring, and has a much lighter exhaust with ace headers, etc now. So to answer your question - right this minute, nope

Finally had nice weather on a day off to complete one of the doors. Took me most of the day to transfer everything over. I believe I can cut a lot of time out when I do the passenger side.

Had a few holes for clips I had to open a bit with a Dremel. But most important was the overall fitment was perfect!!

Bolted up the first time no adjustments made

Getting close to sunset finished in time

Stock door was heavy as fk. Not 50lbs I had heard, my scale says 43lbs stripped

So after I get the passenger side done this will be good for 64.5lbs weight reduction off the car.

Side note one of the bottom window stoppers is a big heavy piece of steel. I could easily make it out of aluminum and chop another pound off each door.

New car weight should be ~2375.25!

Finished passenger side a few pics of the inside. Also removed these black heavy chunks of steel from inside the door. I thought they may be a window stopper but after moving the windows up and down they do nothing that I can see -1 Free pound!

Everything swapped

Finished!

Heavy chunks of steel 1/2 lb each
